Big Pony

Big Pony is a companion mod for MineLittlePony (though is not required). It allows you to customize the way you appear in the world, including model scaling and camera position. It is the spiritual successor to FillyCam by Hepolite.

Multiplayer Support

Server admins have the ability to enable or disable various parts of this mod that may be considered "cheaty". Things like camera position and hitbox are opt-in, and will require the server to have this mod installed to allow.

Building

1. JDK 17 is required. Install it using https://adoptium.net/?variant=openjdk17&jvmVariant=hotspot

2. Open a terminal window in the same directory as the sources (git clone or extracted from zip). Run the following command (windows).

gradlew build

3. After some time, the built mod will be in /build/libs.

Installation

Fabric (And FabricAPI) are required. Please refer to their installation instructions here and come back once you have Fabric functioning.

Once you have fabric installed, simply download the BigPony-version.jar for your particular version from the releases page and place it into your mods folder next to the fabric-api.jar.

Remember to use the fabric launcher profile when starting the game!

bigpony's Issues

autogenerate config with all options on fist launch

right now it only updates options when the client modifies them but since some options are serverside you have to add them yourself
I would propose that these options would generate on there default state on fist launch if no config is present

Incompatibility with First Person Models

Hello! When I have this mod and the First Person Models mod (their github repository) installed, the game crashes on launch. I believe it's something to do with this mod modifying the model size and hitbox conflicting with something that First Person Models does.

Get from MineLittlePony is broken

I have seen this issue on 1.20.1 and 1.20.4 now that the option to get the height from minelp is not working and instead is just getting the normal vanilla player height

Renaming mod-MineLittlePony to Amod-MineLittlePony fixes the errors.

[Enhancement] Serverside option to disallow Manual scaling

A config on the server side that only allows the client to get the scaling from MineLittlePony and disables the manual scaling options

Server plugin for BigPony camera changes on Bukkit/Spigot/Paper based servers?

1. Maybe this is already possible and I don't know it.
2. Maybe this is just technically infeasible.

On a Paper instance I was setting up I saw the "Some features are disabled, contact your server admin" message in the BigPony menu, and doesn't seem like I can just drop the mod and its dependencies into the server plugins to "install it" as the "multiplayer support" section of the readme advises.

Web searched around to see if I could find info on this but came up pretty dry.

Move to Pehkui as backend

Pehkui [Modrinth] [GitHub] is a scaling api and mod, using this instead of the own implementation will make the mod more reliable and more compatible with other mods that change scaling

Should BigPony change the player hit box?

Exactly what the title says. If the eye height and model scale changes, then why not an optional feature to have the player's size actually change so fillies can get into one block spaces?

To get this to work on servers, though, you'd probably need PlayerSync and maybe a BigPony plugin. Or just make it as a separate mod, that would work as well.
