Or either don't have positive classes or either have only positive classes. To get at least some positive classes, maybe it is possible to have an extra bag of random negative classes to complement.

Maybe you need to add some more scales so that the object is detected also when the iphone is very close to the object and the object occupies almost the entire image.

You should not worry too much about speed as it will have little impact. For large object scales, the image size will become quite small and everything will be fast.
