lattepanda-mainline-4.11's Issues

Building from source

Hey,
Thanks for the manual, it helped me a lot.
I am not advanced in Linux, so I have a few questions. I hope, that after 2 years it is still possible to get help from you.
I have to change Bluetooth interval in hci.h, therefore i nee to build kernel from sources. I managed to reach the xiv. sudo make install. Is it possible for you to explain the next steps? Especially, patch UCM configuration file?

why System freezing

Why my lattepanda 4G 64g z8350 is based on the installation of
Install ubuntu-16.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso from Ubzzuntu official website.
System freezing card in system start screen

I have modify intel_idle.max_cstate=1

but boot lattepanda Ubuntu
card in system start screen

Installation steps

Do you mind providing a little more details on how to do the installation?

I did the following steps:

  1. Install Ubuntu 16.04.2 ISO from Ubuntu official website, make sure that installation is only in UEFI boot mode.
  2. In the terminal, sudo apt-get update
  3. sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
  4. sudo apt-get install git
  5. git clone this repository.
  6. cd in the package directory
  7. cat lattepanda-64-mainline_4.11.0-rc8-l_amd64.z* > merged.zip
  8. unzip then sudo dpkg -i lattepanda-64-mainline_4.11.0-rc8-l_amd64.deb
  9. installation seemed fine so far, but wifi/bluetooth still doesn't work

At this point, whenever i do "make", i got the following error:
make ARCH=x86_64 CROSS_COMPILE= -C /lib/modules/4.11.0-rc8-panda/build M=/home/robot/edimax/alt/rtl8812AU_8821AU_linux modules
make[1]: *** /lib/modules/4.11.0-rc8-panda/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
Makefile:1570: recipe for target 'modules' failed
make: *** [modules] Error 2

What am i missing/how to complete the installation?

Thanks for the help in advance!

[Z8300] Debian

I was thinking in giving your package for z8300 a try in debian 9 Stretch. Do you think it could work?

No WiFi adapter available

Hi mopplayer,

Unfortunately I still have issues to get WiFi up and running.
I followed your instructions and installed the latest z8300 patch but still can't connect to any WiFi. I don't see any adapter within the network settings. LAN itself is running fine but when I activate WiFi close the dialog and open it again it is disabled again.

Any ideas? Any log or screenshot I could provide? Already double-checked the BIOS settings in south bridge but they seem to be as supposed.
Same goes for BT - no connection possible.

Any help is (again) very welcome.

[Question]

Hi, I'm a linux newbie, but I really wan't to get debian up and running on my Latte. It boots well but WiFi and SD card reader are not functional.
Does this repo and the steps provided work in debian too?

Error after running .deb on debian

Hi, I installed debian 8.8.0 from CD1, everything worked well. Then I:
-cloned this repo
-cd in, and cd into /package
-cat *.z files into merged.zip
-unzipped merged
-run sudo dpkg -i the .deb
-sudo shutdown -r now

and I got this:

any advice?

Can't find default configuration "arch/x86/configs/upboard_defconfig"

Hi mopplayer,

Attempting to build on a clean install of Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS (Desktop version), I get the following error when attempting to build for my Z8300;

Please can you advise?

I can see a lattepanda_64_defconfig in the configs folder, should it be that instead?
