community-data's Issues

Need Improvement & access in about:credits process.

I am Shahbaz, one of the credits team members.

Let me explain, how we process as of now:

  1. Each month, we go through the entry submitted on this spreadsheet via this form, and following "made a significant investment of time, with useful results, into Mozilla project-governed activities" takes a decision to include or reject the entry.
  2. Run a modified script to get the email of the selected entries. Without inserting the names to names.csv
  3. Send a confirmation-cum-approval email to all the selected entries with a deadline before we proceed with the PR to this repository.
  4. After the deadline, we raise PR and Merge.

One thing that people often ask us is why the confirmation email is not from @mozilla.com domain, so we are requesting [email protected] to send confirmations to the approved entries.

And some important discussion we want to have are:

  • How to solve the issue of someone filling on Mozillians behalf?
  • Improving the description of the form to make it simple and clear for everyone, that what we are expecting from Mozillians to put in their form.
  • Should there be a separate process for the Mozilla Staff?

Looking forward to all the suggestions.

Wiki changes

FYI: The following changes were made to this repository's wiki:

These were made as the result of a recent automated defacement of publically writeable wikis.

De-duplication activity

  1. Find all duplicate entries in credit names and remove them.
  2. Check the script to see how it did not pick up prevent these entries.

Q2 names update activity

Opening issue to track names.csv update activity. Will update here once we initiate this process (mostly in next 1-2 weeks).

Status of this repository

I think this repo is not updated for a while.
I filled the google form listed on about:credits, but did not get any response till now.

Thanks

Processing pending names

Due to pandemic & other reasons names are not being updated from some time. Lets discuss about processing pending names here & put other related updates here.

CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file missing

As of January 1 2019, Mozilla requires that all GitHub projects include this CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file in the project root. The file has two parts:

  1. Required Text - All text under the headings Community Participation Guidelines and How to Report, are required, and should not be altered.
  2. Optional Text - The Project Specific Etiquette heading provides a space to speak more specifically about ways people can work effectively and inclusively together. Some examples of those can be found on the Firefox Debugger project, and Common Voice. (The optional part is commented out in the raw template file, and will not be visible until you modify and uncomment that part.)

If you have any questions about this file, or Code of Conduct policies and procedures, please see Mozilla-GitHub-Standards or email [email protected].
