botw-tools's Issues

Confused about a few locations

I'm trying to scrape out location data for some work I'm doing on this save editor.

The approach I'm taking is this:

  1. Start with 187 known save file hashes for discoverable locations.
  2. Find hash in gamedata/s32_data_0.xml
  3. Cross reference with values pulled out of mubin directory with matching SaveFlag value, to find location.

Doing this gives me locations for 182 out of 187 locations. The ones that I'm missing are:

Location_UMiiVillageShopYadoya
Location_UMiiVillageShopYorozu
Location_UMiiVillageShopJewel
Location_UMiiVillageShopBougu
Location_HyruleGround

I'm having a hard time finding what/where those are, and am having trouble correlating with your other repo, or finding locations with grep. Those particular strings are not anywhere in the mubin dir, but all other location names are. Am I taking a really bad approach to this, or is there maybe something wrong with the data?

Update with newest dlc content

The BotW modding community would really like to see this list being updated with the latest game update+dlc as it's a really helpful resource for multiple mods you might've seen lately for BotW. I'm not sure what the steps would be to update the list on my own, but it would be very handy to have it updated. Thanks for the useful resource!

HELP

Can you make a README explaining how to use it and how it works or maybe a video

Licensing

There is no mention of licensing or permission anywhere here that I can see. May I use your save.py and modify it for a project I am working on?

How to remove Malice

I'm trying to figure out if there is a game file somewhere that contains the "Malice" module. You know, the purple flowy stuff.

I'm trying to see if it is possible to remove or replace it.
Thanks

Request: generate armor upgrade cost data

Manually going through ActorInfo.product.xml reveals that this info is present in it. For each item, there are upto 3 normal0ItemName0X tags (where X is 1, 2, or 3) and each one has a corresponding normal0ItemNum0X
