Move to a build system that allows cross-compilation (CMake, Premake etc.)

Building the library from Visual Studio is a pain right now, there should be a way to generate project files for building. I'm not sure how portable the code is, but considering that your GCC version requirement is pretty old (4.1) it should be fine.

--with-mpio=DIR option may be needed.

I tried to compile this; I'm getting: --with-mpio=DIR option may be needed.
How would I get mpio library?
(i'm on ubuntu 14.04)
I tried compiling https://github.com/jubatus/jubatus-mpio but it generates libjubatus_mpio.a, not libmpio.a. See also jubatus/jubatus-msgpack-rpc#24

Invalide free for msgpack future.

After some review on the source code. I noticed the follow problem:

The auto_zone hold a object which is allocated by malloc.
See below:
line 325 in rpc/transport/base.h, the zone object passed to the on_message is from the m_pac.release_zone().
And this auto_zone will be passed to on_response in session_impl and then to the set_result in the future_impl.
The future_impl will hold this auto_zone until its destructor.

But the auto_ptr will use the delete not a free in reset() or destructor. I think this may be why the valgrind reports the invalid info.
