Tools for reading iMessage chat.db and sending iMessages on MacOS Ventura - including parsing capabilities for those pesky hidden attributedBody messages - as Ventura seems to like hiding a lot of iMessage texts from SQL now. Can send texts to individuals or group chats, and can send messages that contain reserved characters and strange formatting.

imessage_tools's Issues

command not recognized

I successfully installed using pip3. Every attempted command returns "command not recognized".

I'm still very much learning CLI, so it may be user error, though I have not had any issue installing and running various CLI tools from Github before. If it is user error, more in-depth instructions would be helpful, as the current set would seem to assume prior knowledge I, at least, don't have.

For this case, I'm running Ventura 13.4 on an M1 Air.

applescript update

if you send a message with only a URL in it, typically it will preview the link for the recipient, but when it sends with this applescript it does not. I don't know enough about applescript to fix it, but it seems the longer applescripts i can find on on stackoverflow do have it.

Would be willing to update your code to accommodate the imessage feature?

As an added request,
Would you also add a function to do tap backs such as like and heart?
