skill-wink-iot's Introduction

Wink IoT

Control lights and switches connected to a Wink Hub

About

Interact with your smart home using the Wink system. Wink hubs can work with virtually any brand of lights, including Philips Hue, GE, Sylvania, Cree, and many more. Use Mycroft to easily interact with nearby lights and light groups you create within the Wink ecosystem.

Your can easily find the right light or lights based on the names of lights and groups. The Mycroft device's Name (set at Home -- check by asking "what is your name?") can be used to find lights and/or groups with begin with that same name. For example, if your Mycroft device's location is set to 'Kitchen' and you say "Turn on the light", lights with the following names would be turned on:

  • Kitchen
  • Kitchen sink
  • Kitchen fan (group consisting of 'Fan 1', 'Fan 2', 'Fan 3') It will NOT turn on a light called "Porch off the kitchen".

You can also include the light/group name in your request, along with intensity words, such as: bright, dim, full, half, completely, partially

Examples

  • "Flip on the light"
  • "Turn on the bedroom lights dimly"
  • "Dim the lights"
  • "Switch off the light"
  • "Raise the light in the kitchen"
  • "Dimmer (conversationally)"
  • "Brighter (conversationally)"

skill-wink-iot's Issues

Please consider submitting the Wink IoT Skill to the 18.08 branch of mycroft-skills

Hi there @penrods, firstly we’d like to say a huge well done on the Wink IoT Skill :-)

This is more so you know how the other requests / chasing for Skills to go on to 18.08 are being done

We’ve now moved mycroft-skills to the 18.08 branch, and we’d really love to have the Wink IoT Skill available on this branch. If your Skill was already accepted into the 18.02 branch, getting it on to the 18.08 branch is likely to be really simple and easy - simply a case of submitting it to the mycroft-skills repo again.

To make this easier, we now have the Mycroft Skills Kit - msk - available.

To open a PR on mycroft-skills, all your have to do is:

    cd <skill folder>
    mycroft-msk upload .

First, activate the virtual environment.

kathyreid@kathyreid-Oryx-Pro:~/mycroft-core$ source venv-activate.sh
Entering Mycroft virtual environment. Run 'mycroft-venv-deactivate' to exit
Next, run msk upload with the path of where your Skill directory is locally.
(.venv) kathyreid@kathyreid-Oryx-Pro:~/mycroft-core$ msk upload /path/to/where/your/skill/is/your-skill-name.username

For 18.08 we have a brand new Skill README editor, available at;
https://raw.githack.com/MycroftAI/mycroft-skills/18.08/meta_editor.html

If your Skill is a straightforward resubmission, and just a README change, then we won’t put it through the full Skill Acceptance Process - we’ll just do a quick check to make sure everything’s shiny.

More information:

We're also very happy to help assist with your Skill - find us in the Skills Chatroom at Mycroft Chat.

Kind regards,
Kathy
