parablade's Introduction

Hello there 👋..

I am a young Doctorate from Delft University of Technology and is currently working for Belgium Research Institute VITO.

I work a lot with optimization method for engineering/scientific problems. More specifically, with respect to shape, topology optimization and control theory. If you are interested in such topic I have some pretty interesting repositories for you.

I am currently exploring multi-disciplinary design optimization strategies, learning-method for CFD-based optimization and multi-fidelity optimization. If any of these topics is of you interest please get in touch and maybe we can collaborate.

Optimization

Hello,
Could you make an explanation for the use of optimization.py please:

  • What is the Objective function, and where is it calculated?
  • What files are required? (it seems that the matched profile file and the original profile config file are needed...can you confirm and/or complete please)
    Thank you in advance.

MatchBlades_AAchen_2D

Hello Nitish,
I would like to parameterize the 2D and 3D model of a Blade whose geometry is known (CAD). This means that I already have the characteristics of the Blade geometry (stagger,theta_in,theta_ou,wedge_in ...) . My question is how to use MatchBlades. Because when I replace the coordinates of the geometry there is no way for me to be able to compile in order to get the 2d or then 3D model of the blade.
How can I use MatchBlade ? because with the example that you gave us I can't get a 2D or 3D model.
Do you have a concrete examplet hat could help me?
Thank you and have a good weekend
Best Regards.
Clement Singoue

Installation process alert

Hi everyone,
after having completed all the requirements listed on the main page, I downloaded PARABLADE code and launched RunMe.sh.
The following alert is printed out even after modifications to the .bashrc file.
Someone has already experienced this behavior?

Generate entire fan mesh?

Can this library generate the entire fan mesh like in the README pictures or just a single blade?

Feature request: Construction of blade flow domain (blade passage)

Hi, first off all, thank you for providing this piece of work to the open source community.

I would like to suggest the following feature:
Construction of blade flow domain (blade passage) i.e. upper, lower, hub and shroud boundary for the flow domain around a singe blade. This would be very useful in order to analyze blade performance in various types of numerical software tools.

I will gladly help if I can, but I only posses general python skills and limited understanding of blade parameterization algorithms.
