Punchline!

Punchline! is our entry for the Ludum Dare 53 game jam, about the theme delivery. We made the whole game using Unity game engine and we created each asset (models, sprites, vfx and sfx) by ourselves.

Punchline! is a game where an amateur comedian tries to tell his best joke. You're going to play 3 minigames in quick succession: the first two are setup games, where you’ll have to "fight" to keep the audience as engaged as possible, and score points; finally, in the third minigame, it will be time to deliver the punchline!

Add Settings

Possibility to dodge the insults between letters

Make use of the score of each minigame in the calculation of the final score

Fixing Minigame: adjust score and gauge bar for each object (the last step is weird)

Broken game loop in punchline minigame

If the player waits on the "control" screen:

• the camera won't shake;
• at the end the game brings you to the punchline minigame again;

Tomatoes could spawn at the end, preventing the user from reaching 100%

Provide a recap of the stats of each minigame (score, engagement, time?) separately

Sometimes it's impossible to dodge walls

The player doesn't move quick enough to dodge some walls

Punchline minigame is broken

the shake starts when the player hasn't yet started playing the game, and ends before the timer expires.

In Dodging Walls game there are no lateral boundaries

Info panel is bugged in Recap view

Remove info button

Broken game loop

When the user loses 3 minigames before reaching the punchline it cannot start one anymore;
the same happens after playing the third minigame.

Punchline UI

• handle showing/hiding UI components;
• fix GameOver panel text scaling.

"Fixing" Minigame: the player can drop out of the room

Add room boundaries

Possibility to choose the minigame after winning the game

60 seconds is a bit too much for setup minigames
