If you have the Tesla FSD Computer(HW3) installed and/or get black videos, then you'll need to install the H.265 codec.

Install VLC 3.X if not already installed to enable VLC as the video player. When installing VLC make sure that "Web Plugins" & "ActiveX Plugin" are both checked as optional components you wish to install. Windows Media Player is still supported but requires all TeslaCam files to be re-encoded before they play correctly, VLC fixes this issue.

Tesla's software update 2019.24.4 has changed how the TeslaCam files are saved/encoded. Use the Re-encode feature to fix these issues when using Windows Media Player as your default video player in TCV.

Known Bugs

I have modern powerful windows 10 Pc with a top of the line CPU and GPU and more then enough Ram to sink a ship. I am trying to watch the videos either directly off the USB SSD Samsung that's normally stored in the model 3. And or I have tried to copy the videos onto the same SSD on my PC as the teslacam viewe.exer is located - no difference...

Problem: The clips always open on the sentry trigger. But the image on all 4 cameras is frozen. So I re-select the minute that's already highlighted on the Select Event column and the video will play from the beginning of the sentry minute.

Frustratingly, I cant scrub forward or backward or the images will pause but the timer keeps scrolling. This also happens if I slow down after speeding up the footage, and or reversing the footage. The only way to get the video to play, is to re-select one of the minutes on the RHS.

I have the latest VLC 64 bit player installed. (Just reinstalled it again now and I have the latest version of your software.) Have had the same issue since day one.

To see each trigger I have to load the folder, re-select the trigger minute video, and wait (1 minute) until the end of each and every event. Slow and tiring process. Then if I missed it, or want to review it a little more, I have to go back to the start of the minute and re-watch it all.

For reference, I have never donated to freeware until I saw this. I am a supporter, in need of support. :)

Feature request: Have a "Delete" item in the context menu of the explorer pane

An item "Delete" there could improve the workflow greatly.

Workflow now:

• View event
• It's not important
• Right click "open" -> Explorer
• Select another event in TeslaCamViewer
• Navigate in explorer one directory back
• Delete the whole directory

Proposed workflow:

• View event

App self-closes on attempting to play analyzed clips - Win 10

Hi Nate!
First of all...It's so nice that you're creating this app for all of us to use...I can only imagine how much time and energy you've put into it.

I've tried version 2020.3.1.0 on both my Win 10 Laptop and Desktop, with latest versions of VLC installed plus the h.265 codec. I can start TeslaCamViewer, browse to the USB, select a subfolder with clips in it, and the app then does its little "analyzing" dance. But when I click to play when it finished analyzing, the app just closes itself and disappears. I do have HW3, if that makes any difference. Can you suggest something for me to try? I've not tried any of the earlier versions yet.

BTW, on my Laptop I also get a popup saying that VLC is not the default player (but it is). I don't get this same popup on my Desktop.

Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow

Running 2020.18.0.0 and am getting an error when trying to view Sentry footage.

No videos will play when getting this error:

Request: Option for ascending order of files.

I'd like the ability to watch from start to finish.

Maps don't display

Hello,

how is the map feature supposed to work? I only get a blue rectangle with Google credentials when I hover over one of the entries in the file explorer. No map shows no matter which map service I pick.

2019.46.4.0 - Freezing

Manually updated to 2019.46.4.0. UI hangs badly when playing in faster speeds causing me to forcefully close the UI.

"Copy TeslaCam viewer " (after formatting) copies TeslaCam Viewer but also subfolders

Repro steps

• have a folder on your hard disk with TeslaCam Viewer and a subfolder Archive with archived clips
• Format a new drive by right clicking on the drive
• Answer "yes" to "Do you want to copy TeslaCam Viewer to the drive"
• Get freshly formatted drive with already 24 gigs of clips on it

Can't move In Point Marker and Out Point Marker with the mouse

Tooltip is shown, but it cannot be moved.

Used to be that you could CTRL+Click multiple 1 minute segments and get a longer video that you could work with. Seem to have lost the CTRL+Click function in this one though.

The "in point marker" and "out point marker" in Export cannot be moved

Consider targeting .NET 4.x

The current project targets .NET 3.x which is quite old, and not installed by default in Windows 10 (or 8.x for that matter). Building against .NET 4.x would ease the install process for most users and help those of us who want to avoid the overhead of installing and updating the old 3.x framework.

Can this be updated to stream from cloud storage?

And it uploads all my dashcam footage to my OneDrive storage. The issue I'm running into is that this app won't stream directly from OneDrive. Has to be downloaded first, then played. Would love the ability to just stream directly from OneDrive, in some capacity.

Not sure if it is feasible.

App closes without error after looking at a clip for a few seconds

Hi,

I seem to be having an issue trying to get this to work correctly.

TelsaCamViewerII standalone opens, and I can navigate to a folder to load, then once it starts playing it just crashes the app without an error.

I've updated my VLC player and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I see this in the logs before the crash:

app unresponsive to user input while taking a long time to load an event

The app used to work very well for me, but in the last few months it seems all the events are taking a long time (~30 seconds) when first selecting the event. Almost immediately the videos begin playing when the event is selected, but but the folder browser is replaced with "Analyzing File", and the app controls are not able to be interacted with. This last for about 30 seconds until the app returns to normal and "Analyzing File" appears to complete.

This is really annoying because I used to be able to immediately drag the video timeline around or switch to other events, but now I have to wait 30 seconds.

From the log file, 2:40:04 I select the event and app blocks user input, 2:40:34 the app returns to normal:

Scrubbing Timeline Crashes Program

When clicking and dragging the playhead on the timeline for more than just a short time, the program crashes instantly.

"time position idicator" cannot be moved

The "time position idicator" cannot be moved by the mouse, so jumping around in the whole recorded event can only done on by clicking on the minute subclips

Install VLC 3.0+

I have 2019.46.6.1 installed, and also installed VLC 3.0.8.

When I launch TeslaCamViewerII I get the message popup to install VLC, even though it's installed. Tried rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling with no success.

I am also unable to switch to VLC in the preferences. VLC was installed with the required checkboxes checked.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Camera Layout

Hi,

If I wanted to only export the Front/Left/Rear cameras I'm not seeing a way to create a new Camera Layout for these 3 cameras (right camera didn't have any meaningful video to include in an export). Is the ability to create your own Layouts there today?

Standalone Binary Detected as Malware

The standalone binary linked in the readme is detected as a malware when uploaded to VirusTotal.com.

Rear camera doesn't appear

2017 Model S and I can see rear camera while driving, but does not seem to show up in TeslaCam Viewer II. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot on my end? Thanks!
