What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected to see a potential list of all my friends on twitter. Instead I
saw results from the first 500 (I assume from one api call limited to 500
friends?) Would love to have a button to click that said something along
the lines of "Check my next 500 twitter followers".

I'd like a larger area to touch to check in

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open FourSquare
2. Attempt to check in by touching "[tap to check-in]"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect that there be a large enough area sensitive to the check in
command that more often than not it works.  Instead I often find myself
accidentally hitting my avatar, which I expect to be a hotspot.

In reality I often have to hit twice or three times.  Number of attempts
increases linearly with number of drinks consumed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Process for adding friends

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Figuring out how to add friends

- tried add friends on the phone.  wants phone # but i dont have phone
number of people in alpha (except for dens)
- wanted to add friends from top scores list (i know some of these people)
but there's no way to do that
- went to the website.  went to add friends.  there was a search box.  put
in dens, figured i'd add dennis, and it came up with all these names.  ok..
 so i clicked SEND for one of them and the search box reloads.  not sure if
they were added?

Upload profile photo from iPhone

This is a feature request.

I'd like to be able to change my profile photo from my iPhone. There's an
iPhone widget thing somewhere that lets you use a photo from your library
or take a photo. That would be nice.

Need notification when profile photo is over 50K

1. upload a profile photo over 50K
2. hit save all
3. nothing changes, but no message telling you why

Would like some kind of error message telling me why the photo didn't get
uploaded.  Don't always have the KB showing in the file browser.

Profile photo size requirement is stupid

That's a damn small photo (50k). Also, if you try and upload a larger
photo, there's no error message and the photo just doesn't show up.

Multiple Location Business->dup location error

Tried to enter Planet Granite (SF location)

Gave me a prompt to confirm it was not the Sunnyvale location. It wasnt so
I hit continue and got "Duplicate entry '23-planetgranite' for key 2"

Phone number hyphens not allowed on signup

It complains that phone numbers must be 10 digits and puts me back on
signup page

todos. You should allow this and encourage more interaction/community building

todo locations not saved/ stored?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
When saving locations that are tied to todos (have a drink at Beretta,
included address), I would have hoped that location would have been saved
for future checking? 

When I later (2 hours maybe?) tried to checkin from there (Beretta) it
didnt come up in the list of options...it did pull up other nearby options
just not the one I wanted/entered

Web Signup Frustrations

If you have errors on signup, it only points out one, not all of them.

* Zip Code field allows more than 5 characters but errors on submit.
* It isn't clear on signup that if you give a Twitter username that a password 
is required (says 
"optional").
* Upon each error, the photo needs to be re-selected.

Redirect back to venue after successfully adding Tip

I would expect to be redirected back to the venue page and see my tip
added.  Instead the Add Tip page refreshes without the venue information

Foursquare often tells me it can't connect to the Internets

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Unfortunately I don't have good steps to reproduce.  

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Often when I open foursquare and try to perform an operation (particularly
checking in, although that may be simply because I do that more often than
other operations) I get a cannot connect to the internets dialog.  Other
applications seem to be able to connect to the internets without difficulty.

Latest build as of February 13, 2009 and latest iPhone OS with carrier upgrade.

iPhone app crashed (twice) on startup in presence of captive-portal wifi

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to a cafe/etc. w/ ZRNet wifi (or other wi-fi service w/ captive
portal software which requires viewing an ad and clicking a button before
getting Internet access
2. Turn on wi-fi on the iPhone, but don't open the browser
3. Open Foursquare app

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The app immediately crashes after the startup screen. You go back to the
main iPhone screen.  No "having trouble connecting to the Internet" or any
other error message.

Give user chance to confirm geocoding

I tried to enter a locale outside SF with just a town name ("Davenport
Landing, CA"). Geocoder tried to turn it into Davenport Ave, Oakland
(wrong!) You need to at least show me the attempted geocoding so I can
correct/reject it.

Notifications?

Okay, so this is more of a feature request than a bug.

How can I get notified of new checkins???

I don't want to have to check my phone or web to find out where people are.

Best solutions:
1. SMS
2. iPhone alert (don't think they allow this for 3rd party apps yet)
3. Mobile email (like old dodgeball)
4. Email

Bug in buttons

Missing the tid.  So I got this error.

iPhone app froze on changing cities screen

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Activate iPhone app in a city OTHER than the city your account is set to.
2. App asks if you want to switch cities.  Say yes.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Black screen with "changing cities" or the like displayed.  Never changes.
 Restarting the app eliminates the problem and it starts in current city.

In More, Moving to "The stats" and back to "Everything else" Can Give Big Blue Box

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to "More" 
2. Touch the big box at the top, taking you to "The stats"
3. Touch "Everything else" to go back to "More" (p.s. that might be confusing - 
"everything else" == 
"more"?)

I expect to see things the way they were before. But sometimes I just see a

Places Screen Goes A Little Bonkers When Nothing's Nearby

1. Go to the Places screen 
2. Be physically in a location where you are not near any venues in the db.
3. Watch the "Loading" thing keep bouncing on and off as if it keeps looking 
for venues repeatedly.

Mild Friends Screen Confusion About What's Yesterday v. This Morning

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go out on a fun date and then go to a couple bars afterwards - having at 
least one of those 
checkins after midnight.
2. Wake up the next morning and look at Foursquare on the iPhone and wonder if 
the history is 
represented correctly.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected a history but I got just my last checkin under "Yesterday." I think 
the language is a bit 
confusing as technically it was this morning but part of last night and I 
expected to see what else 
I did last night (how far does yesterday extend into today's morning?). Today 
is Sunday but it 
shows my checkin from this morning under "Yesterday."

(Feature request: Having a list of what you and your friends did last night 
instead of the most 
recent checkin from each would certainly be a useful!)

Also, Four Square currently it isn't respecting the iPhone's time formatting 
preference on that 
screen (12- vs. 24-hour time).

(As long as I'm being picky about time formatting, on More -> The stats, "PST" 
should be "PT" 
unless that text is dynamically switching between PST and PDT.)

Venue name doesn't appear in a user's "Top 12" list

On the profile page of a user with a "Top 12" list, the list items don't
include the venue name. Thus the entirety of one item reads: "#1.   Sushi
place that's great for non-fish eaters. (15 hrs ago) [#]"

Clicking the hash link at the end only links to that list item's location
on the page.

After adding the item as a to-do, I can see the venue on my to-do list: " 
Leah C. did this@ Blowfish Sushi...
Sushi place that's great for non-fish eaters. (15 hrs ago) [#]"

Todo Screen - titles dont include place?

the todo title didnt include the place, just the action, which was
confusing especially since it was relating to cocktails and its quite
likely i have more than 1 todo that invovles coktails. thanks!

adding a tip threw db error

1. was looking at superkb's ice cream sandwhich tip
2. wanted to add that ( and who would not?!)
3. clicked add or whatever and it gave me this:

Says friends have already sent me invites

Unable to delete erroneous check-ins

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Check in via SMS with a venue name that is somewhat ambiguous

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I see a check-in for the wrong (but similarly named venue), but would like
to delete this check-in and recheck-in with a more specific venue name.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Checked in via SMS to 50500.

I also didn't receive any sort of confirmation back via SMS, so I wouldn't
have known without looking at the website.

To be more specific, I checked in with "@ The Fishbowl" and it checked me
into "Fish Bowl Bar & Grill".  I added "The Fishbowl" with the correct
address and it changed the check-in automatically! Awesome!  But I can
still foresee the need to delete incorrect check-ins.
