My personnal dotfiles

Introduction

This is my personal dotfiles. Currently only used for vim.

Setup

1. Install vim.

sudo apt-get install vim

2. Git clone into home dir. Must be located in ~/dotfiles, otherwise paths won't work out.

cd ~/dotfiles
./setup.sh

This assumes you have a bash shell.

Update

1. git pull
2. cd ~/dotfiles && ./update.sh

Useful commands

To remove old linux kernels taking up space in /boot: dpkg -l|grep 5.4.0|grep ^rc|cut -d' ' -f 3|xargs -I '{}' sudo apt -y purge '{}'

• emacs + spacemacs
• zsh + autocompletion plugin
• remove tmux conf? Keep default?
• tldr as a complement to man?
• replace grep by ripgrep or silver searcher or other
• fzf to replace ctr+r history searching. [ -f ~/.fzf.zsh ] && source ~/.fzf.zsh
• tree to view directories
