Extension is broken for Apps for Education domains

Here is the relevant part of the email report I received:

"Hi! great extension but it doesn't seem to work with Google Apps for Education
users/domains. It keeps asking me to login but then balks at a my cookies being
turned off."

Not sure if it's the Apps-for-Education domain or something else. Also
potentially related to Issue #4.

"Gmail - This app is currently unreachable" displayed in popup.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Gmail app.
2. Try to use Tasks extension

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I see an app error page, as if the Gmail app failed to load.

Upon uninstalling the Gmail app, the real error page it was hiding shows up...
an infinite redirect loop error. Clicking the refresh link then opens tasks.

Reinstalling the Gmail app does not immediately break it (I suspect Gmail must
be installed when the popup is first open).

Doing things in the task list with the Gmail app installed seems to still work.

This smells like a Chrome bug rather than an extension bug.

Implement popup.html UI using the API

Currently the iGoogle gadget is loaded into popup.html This means there are
two authorization mechanisms in use; one for the omnibar add mechanism (OAuth)
and another for the popup.html list (Google account sign in).

It is desirable to have one consistent mechanism (OAuth); to do so, the
functionality seen in the gadget in popup.html should be implemented using the
Google Tasks API.

Activating extension should focus the task list

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Activate the extension by clicking on it or using a user-defined keyboard
shortcut
2. Try to press Enter to input a new tasks

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

It should be possible to interact with the extension right after activating it.
Instead you have to click again on the list to start interacting (adding tasks,
modifying, etc, ...).

Possible fix is making the first task focused when activated but that may not
be optimal as it would allow modification of the first task even when it's not
the intention of the user.

Another is to focus for example the title or an invisible item, and add the
possibility to directly add a new task with Enter.

Like that the minimal operation for creating a new task would be :

-Activating extension (click on icon or keyboard shortcut)
-Press Enter
-Write the title

In Gmail the first task is being focused when the user open the task list but
this is a little different as users who wants to check their task list and user
who want to add a new task have to activate the extension. Therefore the second
solution might be closest to the user intent.

It was working fine until a few days ago. I'm pretty sure whatever update
google did for chrome caused the problem. also on some wordpress, popups don't
work anymore. Google chrome used to be great but it has become increasingly
unreliable. Please take a look at it. Many others have complained about
similar issues

Tasks drop-down appears off screen

When clicking on the button the extension spawns its drop-down past the left
edge of the window.
1. Open chrome
2. Make sure the window is not maximized
3. Click on the Google Tasks icon

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: The list of tasks appears directly below the 'google tasks' icon on
the right side of the screen.
Observed: The list spawns past the left edge of the window. If the window is
maximized or on the left edge of screen you won't see it at all.

't' binding should be configurable

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Bind a search engine to the letter 't'
2. Install this extension
3. type "t something" into the Omnibar

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
This extension's 't' binding is favoured over the user-added 't' binding. Nicer
would be to add an entry to the Search Engines configuration page
(chrome://settings/searchEngines) so that users can decide for themselves which
binding to use (or even remove the binding).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Parsing of due date from task text

Feature request from a user: Using 't Remember to buy the paper 1/5/11' should
detect the date as a due date, and place this in the 'due' field when creating
the task.

Ideally values detected will include:

- Day of week (ie, "Monday")
- Dates in various formats, taking into account user locale (ie, "1/12/11",
"12/1/11")
