Plan

  • test stories in a varied range of browsers
  • fix any issue that might occur

Bite Size Information

Description

From #1 we will have a better understanding of the fears and barriers people and the users we are targeting. The idea is that accompanying the stories will be bite size information relating to a small number of fears and barriers that are likely to be stopping people from taking the next step. The language is simple and honest, with a reassuring tone. We resist the temptation to provide all the information people might need. Our goal is to offer just enough to help people reach out to support services. Other websites have excellent longer content, including SeAp's own site.

Plan

  • Prioritise bite size information based on insights from the discovery
  • Write copy for prioritised bite size information based on insights from the discovery
  • Review copy

Acceptance Criteria

  • Copy for the bite size information matches the copy in this document:

image

Plan

  • Discuss how to handover to seAp's IT team
  • update Readme, production URL

Discovery workshop

Description

We need to do some discovery to find out the fears and barriers to reporting complaints about their care or treatment. We also need to understand our users and who we are targeting. This will inform the stories we source and bite-size information we provide.

Outline of the user research session

Below is the rough plan for the user research day:

  • Morning session talking to yourself, the health complaints team and anyone from health watch who would could attend. This should only take a couple of hours.
  • Afternoon session: talking to user interviews, prioritising service users who have complained in the past and your volunteer advocates. These will be individual interviews roughly an hour long, if we could book in 3-4 people that would be great.

Plan

Add seAp images

  • @HedgehogHolly to chat to Paul about illustrations for the site. Does he know anyone? Does he think that the illustrators we have fit the brand? (Holly on this one we will need to put together a file of illustrators, including yourself. I would also suggest not using just one illustrator for the site.)
  • @roseb04 to start writing up content for bite size info now that we have top 6 questions.
  • @roseb04 to book in a new meeting for the 8th October at 2pm

Notes

GitHub Boilerplate

We should add our standard GitHub issue and PR templates to make this repo easy to use. We can use the same gitignore file we have used before to make sure files we don't want here are not included.

  • Add a .gitignore file before we commit any files it excludes to the repo

Stories

Description

We will be looking for up to four stories. These stories will help people overcome those fears or barriers to making a complaint about their care or treatment. SeAp will source up to 4 stories, if possible the quotes to be verbatim. These can be in any format but best for them to follow the below structure and Neontribe will then write up the copy so it fits in with the site.

If possible to structure stories as follows:

  • "I was in this situation"
  • "I was scared/worried/concerned that if I did X, Y might happen - but it didn't"
  • "This is what actually happened"
  • "Because of this I felt this improvement/was able to do this/etc"

Plan

  • @katquatermass and @roseb04 to source 4 stories from seAp contacts
  • Neontribe to edit into the correct format
  • Liz to sign off on stories
  • Send over stories to illustrators to produce accompanying illustrations

  • Aoife to see what interests they narrowed down by on Facebook
  • @roseb04 to arrange to meet with Aoife to plan social media campaigns end of Jan
  • Sarah to send over font zip file
  • @roseb04 to pull together copy and images/videos for adverts
  • Once staging site is up to share with Liz for final input

Notes

  • Currently they have a non for profit account with Youtube and Google ads that lets them have one free advert, not sure if they are able to pay on top of that
  • We want to target the specific areas they work in (Liz has sent these over)
  • They want to learn what social media works for them, ie is Facebook better than Youtube etc.
  • They want to know what areas people are clicking on the ads
