move text in blue area currently at top of species images page so that it is below Asian Hornet and above the other species
Need to add on hornet pages the following:
Caution: take care when recording this species as its sting is similar to that of a wasp.
Discuss with me (Marc) and we'll decide best place
Jean Marie Rohou should also be credited as her image was used for the thorax of the Asian hornet in comparisons page.
This depends on how and whether restructure the credits as suggested in another issue I posted. Her name is in the new text I have written.
Where currently says 'No Photo added'
please change, if possible, though we are struggling to work out how to write this:
'Photograph highly desirable to help confirm identification'
after entering record and details anonymously it saved rather than sending record. M. pocock
remove the 'Other' section on species recording page and remove this option from the app
On the Hornet Hoverfly species page can you please change the bit that reads
add extra photograph to carousel for Asian Hornet (an image of a dead specimen) = 1.10 in image folder. All details have been updated in csv file (dimensions, author). Of all priorities listed this is lowest priority
add warning sign (alert) = red triangle with exclamation mark inside to Asian Hornet image on species recording page
Currently, incoming records from the Asian Hornet app display the geo-location on Lat / Long format, which makes it very difficult to understand the location.
A similar issue with the iRecord App was resolved so that records display the OS Grid reference on the Verification grid.
Can the same fix be applied here please.
It needs to be a survey under the NNSS website (id = 3) so that the records are not automatically visible within iRecord.
As discussed and confirmed by myself and Colin, previously highlighted by Steph and now by Jim too - when you enter stuff into comments and then leave comments, when you return to it the comments have gone. I don't know if any comments are being submitted at all so i will send a few records now with comments and we can check. I suspect not.
On Honret Hoverfly species page
switch order of key facts and species information oon species pages so that key id features is above the text describing the species
Add timeline to Asian Hornet species profile - have now added a provisional timeline for Asian Hornet to the time line folder.
replace images on comparison page - I have resized images so they should all match up now, except the abdomen images which were already ok. So head, thorax and legs all need replacing with the new resized images. They are in the same folder as before and I have simply replaced the old images with the new ones so the names are exactly the same folder.
Need to add Didier Descouens (MusƩum de Toulouse) to the credits. This is the author of the cut-out image on the flash page. I wonder whether the copyright with his name could be on the flash as well given that this is the first image everyone is guaranteed to see?
on compare hornets page, the text for asian hornet and european hornet for 'THORAX' images are the wrong way round. 'All Black' is Asian Hornet.
GPS location doesn't seem to work if turn on gps after app has opened - M. Pocock

re-structure credits so photograph authors are split by species they have photographs for??
Have mocked up the text as follows:
Photographs
Front page - Opening (flash): Didier Descouens; Background: Laurent Eude
Species pages - Asian Hornet: Jean Haxaire, John Feltwell, Laurent Eude, Luc Alary, Steph Cariou, Michel Reynaud, Siga, National Bee Unit; European Hornet: Steven Falk, Paul Davis, Steven Falk, Cristian Arghuis, Steven Falk, Martin D Parr, Nigel Jones, Chris Taklis, Colin Pumfrett, Frank Post; Giant Woodwasp: Steve Covey, Paul Hill, Les Binns, Les Binns, Holger Groschl, Nigel Jones, Les Binns, Peter L Herring; Hornet Hoverfly: Lee Collins, Marc Botham, Steven Falk, Joaquim Alves Gaspar, Paul Davis, Matt Smith, Frank Post, Pere Igor, Fujnky, Steven Falk; Hornet comparisons: National Bee Unit, John Feltwell, Cristian Arghuis, Jean Marie Rohou, Steven Falk, John Feltwell, Frank Post
update maps for all species - Colin has produced some new maps as NNSIP not happy with current ones.
On Hornet Hoverfly page:
scientific names still need italicising = Volucella inanis x 2 (in other features and in main species description text)
text edits in species information:
change 'The largest...' to 'One of the largest...'
in species description delete 'be' from 'where they are thought to be feed on' so it reads 'where they are thought to feed on...'
where it says '(see comparison)' either remove this or use one of the following temporary measures:
add timeline for Asian Hornet
When querying a record via the Verification grid, the e-mail displayed under the e-mail tab is "[email protected]". This field needs to show the e-mail address provided by the user so we can get in contact if needed.
When you manually enter a grid reference it does not assign it. Once you leave that page after entering the grid reference it immediately resets it to the GPS location as determined by phone. This has been brought to my attention by Steph and Colin and I just tried it and it is an issue.
Not highest priority but would be good, if have time, to centre/justify text below images on comparison page. The species names above the images are centred so it makes the text underneath them look odd as it is left aligned.
Jim's comment that you said was a good one and worth trying to sort out:
When sending record without login, can email field be marked as email so that a keyboard with @ and . comes up? (The email field in the login dialog works okay)
change categories for recording numbers as follows:
1, 2-5, 6-20, 21-100, 100+
request from GBNNSIP to add an image of a dead Asian hornet to the carousel images for that species. perhasp this is too much work?
Jim has flagged an issue that the link to the Asian Hornet doesn't work and when we tried it together on your tablet the link didn't work either. However, I don't have an issue with this and nor does Colin. it works fine.
One issue I have with this is the links download a pdf and don't display it or make it obvious that this has happened. I wonder if it might be better to have the pdf's embedded somehow so they are part of the app rather than a link?
move compare icon on Asian Hornet page so it sits just above the Key identification features
'if I click on a submitted recording it does not give the English name, only the scientific name. Please add english name as well.'
When you submit a record anonymously it tells you that to edit it you need to go to the iRecord website ā but surely you canāt edit it if you logged it anonymously?
Have uploaded an updated map into Map apps folder and replaced the old one. This needs updating in the app please
On euro hornet species page:
change text in footnote for taking photograph. Text should say:
Photograph highly desirable to confirm identification.
However, NNSIP are suggesting adding it in between where you choose the species and the location when entering details of record. I think this will be difficult so can discuss, minimum is to do as above.
