It just works!

I spent days and nights searching online. I tried dozen of versions of Oracle JRE, hacking java.security file, changing TLS settings here and there, but couldn't get remote console to work on a Supermicro H8 system. This just works without any tweaking! It is amazing, just like magic!

Feedback: working with QuantaGrid D51PH-1ULH

Quick feedback to say that this tool saved my ass this time!
It is working out of the box with the AST2400 BMC of my QCT D51PH-1ULH from 2015!
Just download the console redirection jviewer.jnlp from the Megarac SP page and run the command as documented: ./javaws.cmd ./jviewer.jnlp

Other ways of accessing applet-based equipment

Another approach to applet-based equipment interfaces is what Dell provides in their "VNX launcher" package. It's an older, 32-bit version of Firefox Portable (I they used Firefox 51) packaged up with 32-bit Java. I needed to replace the included copy of Java 8 with the version of Java 6 that I used with Java Web Start, but it works. I have yet to be annoyed enough by the read-only profile to take the measures necessary to get it to actually remember that I already clicked through all the security prompts.
