I project I completed in Introduction to Data Science (SDS 192). Using dplyr with spatial data techniques to determine difficulty of trails at MacLeish field station, near Smith College. Used ggplot to create a graph and leaflet to make an interactive map.
adding legends to the map of trails
filter out all the not-hiking trail roads.
double-check how elevation is calculated in the original.
create a new elevation_change column as the original one is a little bit misleading.
convert distance into miles.
clearly unnecessary variables.
create a graph that shows the relationship between each trail's distance and its change in elevation.
arrange and decorate the graph to make it look better and easy to understand.
