logseq-kindle-import's Introduction

Logseq Kindle Import

A plugin that lets you import your kindle highlights which have been created on your kindle, kindle app on mobile or other devices.

โ“ Why?

If you are reading a lot of books and use kindle as your daily reading driver, you will create a lot of highlights which could be used and connected in your logseq knowledge database. To save the manuel transfer of your kindle highlights the plugin provides a way to automatically import as html file exported kindle higlights.

๐Ÿš€ Getting started

  1. Go to your kindle app (e.g. mac or iphone), select a book whose highlights you'd like to export and export/share them.
  2. Export your highlights by email - The kindle app creates a .html file that contains all your highlights from that selected book (exported markdown files won't work with the plugin).
  3. Open logseq > logseq kindle import plugin and choose the exported html file
  4. The plugin will create a new logseq page and imports all highlights listed in the html file

logseq-kindle-import's Issues

Continuously processing

Hello, Iโ€™ve followed each step: downloading the HTML from Kindle, installing the extension, and clicking on the .html file I want to upload. However, when the script-running animation starts, nothing happens. It continues indefinitely without uploading my highlights or creating any page. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated as your extension is extremely useful to me. Have a great day! - Saidelo

Kindle plugin is not working for windows LogSeq

Hi, I tried to install the Kindle highlight import but didn't work. The message I got asked to share the following into this coment:

[Error] :release-channel-issue "Github API Failed(403) {"message":"API rate limit exceeded for user ID 1779837. If you reach out to GitHub Support for help, please include the request ID 2594:1129E:43AA709:444CF1A:65143EF4.","documentation_url":"https://docs.github.com/rest/overview/resources-in-the-rest-api#rate-limiting\"}"]

Import Comments

It looks like I can import highlights but not comments. It would be very useful if I could do both. My comments are a big part of what would make Logseq imports useful. Thank you.

only allow .html files for import

to prevent users to use other files than .html files I would like to implement a file check so the user gets directly feedback why importing highlights do not work due to wrong file exports.
