Covid Checker

This project is built for the Hacky Birthday MLH Hackathon. It is a crowd sourced information gathering tool that displays Covid-19 cases throughout the world. Each user who load the website will be able to view self-reported COVID cases nearby. If the user decides to self-report their case, a geofence will be created around the location of the user. The user can also self-report their recovery thus deleting the geofence, or the geofence will delete itself within 3 weeks time from the date of creation. 3 weeks is a safe estimate for anyone based on when they are deemed symptomatic and should have made enough recovery at that point to safely remove themselves from self-quarantine with minimal risk towards others.

We highly suggest:

  • The user only self-reports based on licensed medical advice. Do NOT self-report recovery due to feeling better.
