Crashes in ubuntu 14.04 64bit

If i run it from console it only states

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

There is already an issue about it and i've already tried with the mame.ini tweaks, same crashes. When trying to launch through Unity/UI, the crash message can't be copied, I would've loved to paste it here for you.

So now, I would only like to know how to uninstall the package (lightning mame frontend), there is no record of it in the Ubuntu Software Center and I don't like to have software around which doesn't work.

xml error in mame

Lightningcrashes when trying to build a database of my ROMS

Into the mame.ini file, you must set the "numprocessors" entry with a numeric (integer) value, not "auto" as it set by default.

Explanation...

The script /usr/share/pyshared/lightningmf_pk/init.py generates following error when building database because of a badly formatted XML file created in /tmp:

xml.etree.ElementTree.ParseError: syntax error: line 1, column 0
The temporary XML file starts with those two lines who make the parser confused:

While parsing $HOME/.mame/mame.ini:
Illegal integer value for numprocessors: "auto"; reverting to auto

Ubuntu error message

Only when the application was installed in Ubuntu. When I close it, Ubuntu displays one of its so-useful messages.

Enter the frontend in the list of games Lubuntu (or other distro) with an icon

I need an icon for your frontend and can see the shortcut in the games section of Lubuntu. Now you can just create a custom shortcut on the desktop, but it is not easy to include an icon in the panel of LXDE Lubuntu, requires action by hand in the code of LXDE to add an icon to the interface. After installing the icon to appear in the games section of Lubuntu could easily include it in the main panel.

With many snap, I think there are problems with the cache(?)

Hi Nicolas,
I am using your frontend and I put all snap of mame, is a huge number: 26678 files. With such a large number of snap frontend tends to crash when you try to load the roms, even though they were very few roms. In practice, it should read only the snap useful to roms found to curb the problem.It builds up a huge cache useless and that creates problems on large numbers of snap.
If you then uninstall and reinstall the lightingmf cache not cleared and the problem persists, there is a stalemate.

You may correct?

Optimize queries of the search field

Hello , thank you for your work , he is useful with LXDE Desktop on Lubuntu . I'm testing your frontend on a very old machine , a Pentium 4 , 1.80 GH , and the number of roms analyzed is 1103 files . With this performance I would need that the search filter the search field departed after entering at least 4 characters , or alternatively , after a few seconds of the last character entered. Your frontend filters after each caratter inserted and 1103 files with the software slows down heavily : I have to wait a few seconds to enter a new character . You could optimize this situation by following my advice ? On old machines the situation should improve significantly , Thanks

Error with: Load rom data

When I try to initialize the rom and snap I get the following error:
