tech-conferences-india's Issues

Add a website for displaying conferences

This has been discussed in #60 before but I want to start a fresh issue since this is a bit nuanced and needs a design first.

@tanvibhakta pointed to https://androidstudygroup.github.io/conferences/ in https://twitter.com/padawanjack/status/1065874671600656384 and I like the idea of showing which conferences have CFPs currently open. To incorporate this, we need some changes in how we structure the conferences right now.

If you have ideas about what details should be shown in the website, add a comment to this issue. Please don't create a PR right now.

I'll work on an initial design and post it here. If I end up creating a PR for it, I'll only merge it by lazy consensus so that the community has a say in it. :)

Remove conferences that do not support CFPs

Many conferences in this list are pretty "commercial" or non community-focussed. I don't have a good definition for what is community-focussed right now but I'm going to draw the line for whether the conference allows CFPs to err on the side of inclusion.

So, conferences which don't have CFPs should be removed from the list (for all years - 2018, 2017 and 2016).

Remove conferences that don't support CoCs

It would be useful to have a column showing whether the conference has a code of conduct displayed on the front page.

It probably makes more sense to just add it to 2019 conferences.

Add scholarship/price details

Like most of the conference is paid and very less are free.
It just one thought of mine if you could also add one more column for a range of pricing.
Second: Also the order should be calendar date-wise.

Because after all see if the tickets price is very high then most of them cancel the plan.
So the idea is here if some can get a fair idea about price before it would save time to know about it and then cancel the plan due to pricing.

Serve a webpage along with README

Hey Nikitha,

Thought to have a static live webpage, than a READ.ME file. So, I just forked your repo and enabled github-pages on my repo, selected timeline theme and tweaked your READ.ME to include past year details automatically in the main index.html, which will get rendered automatically from master branch.

You can view the generated live page here : https://kspviswa.github.io/tech-conferences-india/ .

Have a look & let me know if you want a PR from me.

Add Oracle Code conference

ORACLE CODE - Bengaluru - April 10, 2018

Online Registration for this event is now closed. Registration will be open on the day of the event at the venue subject to seat availability.

Add MEC.conf

MEC.conf (https://conf.mec.dev) is a conference hosted by Model Engineering College, Kochi and has a CFP open at https://conf.mec.dev/speak. We are a developer community, MEC.dev, behind this πŸ˜„

We offer travel assistance to select speakers and accept both hardware and software developers. Also, though this is our first iteration, we intend to have a conference next year too.

PyConf Hyd 2020

Can you kindly add the details for Pyconf Hyderabad 2020 to the page? Details are as below

Name and link : PyConf Hyderabad 2020 (https://pyconf.hydpy.org/2020/)
Date : 5th - 6th December 2020
Venue : Virtual
Description : PyConf Hyderabad is the regional gathering for the community that uses and develops the open-source Python Programming Language. And this year, it is Virtual!
Scholarship Provided : No

Support workshops

I, for one, would be very interested if we include a list of upcoming tech workshops in India.
@nikhita Would you be willing to support this? πŸ˜‡

Make the list yearwise

The page is getting longer day to day.
How about listing the conferences by year
For ex: We mention the year in the readme and a link which redirects to the conferences of that year.

Codementor Events' free annual developer summit aims to help developers learn remotely and grow professionally by engaging with tech leaders to build technical skills β€” in Python, ML, Web3, Vue, and more β€” and career skills.
