Slackbot doesn't seem to hear in channel (beginner)

I have been down this process twice now, and am very new at this. I get to the point where my bot is installed in slack and my dyno is awake.

When I direct message my bot (kwhbot) and type reload, it will reload and tell me it's back!

Originally, the bot would only reload. I changed my link from the pubhtml link to the =sharing link.
Now, I get responses when I direct message the bot.

However, the bot does not seem to work in the channels it's invited to. Any thoughts?
