You can get this functionality with the Explorer plugin, where you can right-click on a file or folder. Not sure it makes too much sense in the text editing context window.

I will have a look a the explorer plugin, thanks for the pointer.
I can only say that I would find it very useful for example to commit changes to files that were opened from some non-explorer application.
