courseware's Issues

Customizable master and boilerplate pages

Make it easy to build courses with different boilerplate pages at the start and master pages.

For example, I would like to distribute the same courseware under Creative Commons non-commercial license and under a commercial license. The freely available version should be branded with the Creative Commons license on all slides and handout pages.

Prompt elements in notes.

An inline "prompt" element that highlights text in presenter notes, to act as prompts that can be skim-read when presenting.

Copyrights on Presentations

Currently copyrights are assigned to courses.

It would be nice if they were assigned to presentations, and then collated and reported at the front of the notes for courses.

relative links don't work properly

Visual URLs are resolved relative to the course document, not to the presentation document that contains the link.

The stylesheets and build should not impose any file or directory structure on the courseware. Given a course file, they should resolve all the necessary content by links in the files.

Use XML namespace

Currently the Courseware doctype does not use an XML namespace. Maybe it should.

Allow slides to be excluded from notes

Sometimes you want a slide in a presentation but it's wasteful to put it in the notes. E.g. a blank screen during a demo or hands-on exercise.

There should be a way of marking a slide as only to be included in a presentation slide deck, not a notes document.

Term List

Add a Term List element containing one or more Term Definitons, each containing a Term and a Definition.

I (Nat) have added these elements to the schema and XXE configuration, but not to the XSLT.

Notes as list

I’d like the notes for a slide to be a list of note elements, each of which can contain (optional) student and presenter elements. This would let presenter notes to be associated with a part of the student notes and aligned with them in the PDF output to help presenters understand the notes.
