This repo hosts the releases of Octave.app, in its GitHub Releases.

The bundle_octave tool used to create these releases is over in the octave-app-bundler repo.

Bugs in Octave.app may be reported here.

Update to Octave 4.4.1

I believe this would drop one of the patches. Unfortunately at the moment, only one.

Octave 7.x and 8.x support

This ticket is to track all the things needed to get Octave 7.x and 8.x building in an Octave.app build environment.

Update to Octave 6.1.0

octave-app 6.1.0 has been released. Is there anything that prevents a new cask from happening?

"Please run Octave from the /Applications/... folder"

Hi - I installed octave-app 4.4 via 'brew tap' & 'brew cask.' However when attempting to start the application using finder, a popup opens with the error message "Please run Octave from the /Applications/Octave-4.4.0.app folder" (which is where the app was installed by brew.)

I am able to successfully run the app from the terminal using this command - so the installed binaries seem to work fine:

/Applications/Octave-4.4.0.app/Contents/Resources/usr/Cellar/octave-octave-app_4.4.0/4.4.0/libexec/octave/4.4.0/exec/x86_64-apple-darwin17.6.0/octave-gui --gui

I tried downloading the .dmg from the site as well, but it doesn't work at all - the application quits (crashes?) right away.

Help much appreciated!

Refactor formulae to put versioned qt formulae names in variables

The qt or [email protected]/qscintilla2-qt512 or [email protected]/qscintilla2-qt511 names get repeated on a lot of lines. Pull those out into class variables.

Sundials27OctaveApp should depend on veclibfort

Sundials27OctaveApp should not depend on openblas but on veclibfort. I think that is a migration issue from dpo's repository.
