Extend to recognize Chinese handwriting?

Is it possible to extend moe to be used for Chinese handwriting recognition as well? There is currently no tool as far as I know which allows to recognize hanzi. Would you be interested in making this work for Chinese as well or do you prefer to keep it limited to the characters used in Japanese?
