Taking over Twitter + FB handles vs. creating new ones

This is not an immediate ask but at a later stage we will need to have social media accounts.

There is a Twitter (https://twitter.com/Commonsindia) and a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CommonsIndia). Does anyone know who the moderators/admins are? Once the chapter is formed we will need to use them and creating new ones might just confuse people.

Asks

• Contact existing admins and negotiate if they are willing to transfer rights.
• Asking internally who of the members are interested to manage social media (some have showed interest here)
• Transferring rights so that new admins can use them for outreach/announcement once the CC-India chapter is formed

Outreach to new CC contributors from India

Steps:

1. Reach out to CC contributors in your network and ask them to sign up at https://network.creativecommons.org/
2. If you already are a CC Global Network (CCGN) member and you know about their work well, then you can guide them, and they can choose to add you to vouch for them. If not, they will need to go through the existing member list and find two people to vouch for them
3. You're most encouraged to use social media, blogs, articles on media, and even other creative ways (say a Facebook/Instagram Live) to reach out to more people.
