Autofocus new task in ToDo widget

1. It would be great if there was a widget for Google Calendar (that would display appointments and other stuff). --> #45
2. On the ToDo widget - Once you click on + to add a new item, activate the type on the next item and enable writing right away, (right now you have to click with your mouse to get to the item and then start writing), also if you hit "Enter" after finishing an item, automatically create a new item below and enable writing. This would speed things up.

Custom picture plugin

Hi there! First of all, big thanks to you for creating this Chrome extension! Means a lot to me as it can boost my productivity. However, I would like to suggest some features for Anori!

1. Custom photo extension - so we may place our own photo for motivation
2. Custom theme or background color - so we may adjust the color to our own liking
3. Custom font & font size
4. Bigger date & time widget

Using favicon as icon for bookmark

It would be great if when a site is left with no logo on the bookmark widget, the little icon from the site is loaded in instead (the little logo that shows at the top of the tab when a site is opened). This is how other new tab extensions work generally to get a logo.

Permission button won't work

Hey guys. When I'm pressing the Permission button on the top sites widget it's do nothing.
My Chrome version is - Version 100.0.4896.75 (Official Build) (arm64)
My laptop is MacBook pro with m1 chipset
Do you need some additional info to investigate this?

Home Assistant widget support

I think it will be great when we interact with Home Assistant entities such as clicking the widget to turn on the lights, fans, or other IoT devices that are connected to Home Assistant or trigger the automation tasks.

Problems with positioning/fitting widgets in grid

I would like to report an issue with the Top sites - horizontal widget. Everytime i try to use it, a window pops-out saying "Can't fit element in grid, sorry" even when the page is empty. I hope you can quickly solve this, thank you.
By the way everything else works perfectly and i love this google extension!

I'm not able to add a wide to-do list (the wider option).
I also tried with an empty canvas with no other widgets and it still doesn't work.

Add 'compact' mode

Allow user to switch between normal and "compact" mode in settings.

Compact mode features:

• Smaller font size
• Smaller block size
• Smaller gap between boxes

Replace background blur filter with already blured images

Blur filter seems to affect performance very badly, especially in 'add new widget' modal

Cover plugin callbacks in docs

Currently docs are missing info about plugin.onStart and plugin.scheduledCallback callbacks

Can't grant permissions with Kiwi browser.

The button is there but when I click on nothing happen and permissions are not granted.

Bigger date & time widget

Onboard widget flashes upon opening new tab

Even when the dashboard space is full of other widgets, the Onboarding widget flashes briefly and disappears when opening a new tab.

I encountered this bug using both Firefox and Chrome

Allow removing sites from top sites widget only in edit mode

I think it would be great to have a similar widget as the top sites widget but it has the option to add websites to it and maybe an icon above that shows device battery if possible

not working on opera browser

anori not working with opera browser. new tabs open on default tab (speed dial).

Anori Chrome extension slow and laggy.

When I installed anori chrome extension it was very slow and laggy. Here are the steps I've tried so far:

1. Checked if my browser and mac OS system is up to date. Both are on the latest versions.
2. Tried disabling other extensions that might've interfered. No effect.
3. Cleared cache and browsing data. Still no effect.

My Chrome browser is Version 112.0.5615.137 (Official Build) (arm64).
My Mac OS M1 air is Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1 (22E261).

Hope it gets resolved. I really want to try running this extension on my chrome as I think it would greatly help with my productivity. I am currently a student and honestly know nothing yet of coding etc., just followed the instructions that Chat GPT had given me. Thanks a lot!

Add opt-in analytics

Would be good to see what's are used and what aren't.

• Analytics should be opt-in (i.e. user need to explicitly allow it)
• Shouldn't send any private data (bookmark titles and urls, recently closed tabs, content of notes, etc)

Metrics to collect:

• Number of folders
• Which widgets are used
• How many custom icons added
• Is compact mode enabled
• Which theme is used
• Keyboard shortcut usage
• Cmd+K menu usage

Bookmark Bar Import

I usually use chrome with the bookmarks bar hidden, and in the normal chrome new tab page it automatically shows the bar. If you could add an option to either bring those bookmarks into a widget, or automatically open the bookmarks bar (ctrl+shift+B) and then re-hide it when something is clicked that would be great!

Steal focus won't work

When I choose this option and open a new tab there is no focus on any field.

Improve performance

There is noticable delay in rendering backfrop-filter on less powerful pc (like macbook air), and we use that a lot in 'Add new widget' wizard.

Also, loading page on such laptops takes a bit too much

• Take a look onto dynamic import and see if we can split bundle into more chunks and load them in parallel

Customizable Icon ?

First of all, very nice work, it is rare to find tab page extensions that are qualitative, beautiful but especially that works locally !

I was wondering, is it planned to allow the addition of custom or local icon for bookmarks (SVG or PNG) ?
I wanted to find a solution by looking at the code but I never used TypeScript.

Vivaldi Onboarding

Hi there,

I have just installed Anori after seeing it on TikTok on Vivaldi - a browser that is built on Chrome and accepts all Chrome extensions.

However, despite the extension installing correctly, I don't get the onboarding screen when I create a new tab or open the browser from new.

Please help!

Open New Tab and place cursor into URL bar

Lovely extension. My clumsy brain needs a moment to adjust to this but better than working with the normal Google Tab folders. Just something I wanted to suggest, not sure how to do this. Usually when I open a new tab in Google Chrome to cursor is directly in the search bar/url bar of GC. But with this extension I found myself typing like an idiot just to find out nothing was written. Not sure how this can be implemented?

Ability to create custom themes

Would be cool if y'all would add an option to add custom images for the backgrounds. I tried some workarounds but the extension crashed and i had to repair from google store. Is there any way i could do it by myself?

Allow to push widget to free space when dragging another widget over it (Android/iOS like behavior)

As the plugin is set up now, if I have a full page of widgets, I can't move any of them around. I always have to delete one, rearrange everything like an annoying puzzle game, one widget at a time.

If you could make it so that we can rearrange the widgets smoothly, and everything slides along according to the grid, by priority of smaller square sized widgets, that would be amazing, and much less frustrating.

Sync across multiple browsers

I have multiple computers using this extension and it would be great if it can sync.

Calendar starting with Sunday

How about making an option in calendar widget where users can select which days to start?

Feature Request: Dynamically resizable widgets.

Right now, the widget sizes are picked at the start and they stay at that size. For example, If you want the notes widget to be bigger, you have to add a new widget and select the bigger notes widget, copy over all the text from your existing smaller notes widget and then delete that smaller widget.

Instead, if I can change the widgets' size dynamically, even after adding them to the board - that'd be great. Maybe let me drag the corners of the widgets to resize them.

Resize Widget and Content

This would be more useful for users with large screens if widgets could be resized. Preferably both the outer frame and the content/text should be resizable independently.

Feature requests

The best thing would be an option to do a custom widget where you can tinker around with the help of CSS.
And if you could create your own themes with background images and color settings.
Maybe also the option to resize widget how you want it to be in a sort of gridview?

Spotify Integration

I would like to see a way to control Spotify from a new tab, I haven't worked with the spotify API before, but would love to help on this project as a whole if you're open to that

Changes to ToDo widget (strikethrough, reorder)

opera gx doesnt open the new tab for edit

pardon my gramma, my english is barely in the intermediary level.
so i actually installed but the tab to edit the home page didnt appear, and i tried to search the opera settings to see if something was blocking and i didint find anything.
i really appreciate any help.

Automatically enable compact mode

We should add option (enabled by default) which will switch between normal and compact mode depending on screen resolution

When this option is disabled, let user manually choose between normal and compact mode (current behavior)

Todo widget - text wrap

Todo widget items text is always just 1 line, longer text parts are not visible.

Is it possible to show the whole text and wrap it with line breaks?
Or limit it with some maxLength (limit for number of characters) and truncate the shown part of text with "..."?

Resource intensive. Slows down the browser, including typing.

Whenever I open a new tab and the Anori page loads, the browser becomes very slow. Even the typing gets slow when I type any url in omnibar at this point. When the actual website loads or when I switch to any other open tab, things go back to normal.

(suggestion) Calendar widget

Hi, thank you for creating anori. I want to suggest that users add events to their calendar widget and add custom colors to each of them. when a user wants to check their event, they can do so by just hovering over the date and the event's name will appear. That's all, I hope you can take this into consideration.

I have deleted all the sites from "top sites" and I don't know how to put them back

Hi! First time using this extension and it is awesome, but unfortunately, I wanted to replace the Top Sites with some other links. I thought it was going to be a "+" button at the end of all sites, but now the space is empty and I don't know how to add the sites back. A bit of help would be very much appreciated. YouTube search button looks for domain that doesn't exist

When searching for 'Rick Astley', the search tries to use yt.com and produces an error:

We can’t connect to the server at www.yt.com.

If you entered the right address, you can:

Try again later
Check your network connection
Check that Firefox has permission to access the web (you might be connected but behind a firewall)
