powercut's Issues

Add to calendar for reminders

Describe the solution you'd like
It would be nice to a way for users to save a schedule as a calendar event that maybe spans for a week.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Alternative is sending web push notifications

Additional context
Add any other context or screenshots about the feature request here.

Add filter for area & date

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

As a user I should be able to directly search for a specific date and area

Describe the solution you'd like

Instead of looking at the whole list of days, I would love to check a specific day and know what time I will have electricity so that I can make better plans.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Leave it as is.

Additional context
None

Add schedules beyond April 10th

Currently Zesco's schedule only list schedule up to April 10th, but we can automate the process to get even the schedule beyond this date.
We can start with a few provinces and track the accuracy before we add other provinces.

Save recently searched place

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Yes, currently users have to retype places they recently searched

Describe the solution you'd like
It would be nice if we can save at least the last 3 searched place for that particular users so that they don't have to type that again.

Describe alternatives you've considered
None

Clean up data

Here is my feedback:

  1. There is an empty select option on the top that is present, when the options are rendered. This doesn't break anything but its quite disturbing.
  2. For someone who lives in Ibex, there is "PARTS OF IBEX HILL" and "PART OF IBEX HILL" listed here and I don't know which one to follow, so maybe some data cleanup would be helpful

The feedback above was received from reddit

Display a progress bar for loadshedding elapsed time

This is more of a UI/UX request, since the application already does the job.

Describe the solution you'd like
Display a small progress progress bar that indicates the time elapsed.
Maybe an animated component that would add some visual flare ๐ŸŒ

Bug: Date time logic does not support overlapping schedules

Just as described, the date time logic does not support overlapping schedules.

If a schedule starts from March 18th 22:00 to March 19th at 06:00 AM, the

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Load the Home page http://localhost:5173/
  2. Select an area that is Zoned for 22:00 to 6:00 (1ST STREET - KITWE is one of them)
  3. The first card displays an upcoming schedule but it shows that the area is experiencing load shedding

Expected behavior

  • The timeToGo object is supposed to show the time till the load shedding starts

Screenshots

Image from Gyazo

You can see the following screenshot and the time in the bottom right.

Note: this only happens at after 6:00 and before 22:00

Update schedule for missing provinces

Currenly we only have schedules for Lusaka, Copperbelt & Northern Provinces, we need to add schedules for other provinces that Zesco's spreadsheet supports.

Add link to Github repo

There are some places in the app where we need to link back to this repository.

  • FAQ Page
    • There are about 2 sections here where we can direct people here to open issues (indicated in the screenshot)
  • The other part will be just on the home page, maybe in the footer somewhere
