Can not get video and audio working

Hi,
i am just testing openmeeting for our purposes.

I started a docker container with
docker run -i --rm --expose=5443 --expose=8888 -p 5443:5443 -p 8888:8888 apache/openmeetings:5.0.0-M3

Now i can connect to the server and enter a meeting room.
When i enter the room from a second computer i see that the partner entered the room, but no audio an video is provided.

I see myself but not more

Can you help me?

Problem with Sound, Mic and cam

Hello, I've used this docker container every thing is Ok but about hearing sound of people and see their cam there are problems.
No body can hear sound and cam of other people, everyone just can see his own camera.

Using another Database

Hi again,
Is it possible to connect the container to another mysql instance, for example on the host, instead of in the container itself?
If yes, how do I tell the container and OM, that it shall use this Database outside of the container?

Please add packages for ldap support to the image

Howdy,

first of all, you've ne Idea how thankful i am that this finally exists (officially)... We would like to help, test and stuff regardless of the state of this docker image for openmeetings but to do so we kinda need ldap support to immediately raise acceptance with our Grey-bearded supervisors.

A co-worker of mine fiddled around with ldap but came to the conclusion that actual ldap packages are required on the system / container to be able to do ldap. (I hope he's right and didn't tell me something half true, and i couldn't verify it properly yet, since i'm not a super expert with openmeetings.)

But if it's true, would it be possible to include the needed packages within the next image builds? That would be quite awesome.

Windows Setup

Hi,

can you please make a setup for windows installations (after "uprade" adobe flash player with html5) with all required files/software?
It should be possible at installation to check/uncheck what to install.
I don't need pdf's so i don't need ghostscript.

unable to create directory '/nonexistent/.cache/dconf': Permission denied.

When uploading file, the logs on the console shows:

(process:15426): dconf-CRITICAL **: 14:06:22.660: unable to create directory '/nonexistent/.cache/dconf': Permission denied.  dconf will not work properly.

OpenMeetings 7.1.0, full image.

But the file is uploaded and converted successfully.

What is the problem? Should it be fixed?

During screen recording, this type of file *.webm was not found in the opt / omdata directory

No sound in rooms / no voice communication possible

Hi,
when I run the container with docker run -i --name om --netowork host apache/openmeetings:6.2.0 on an - Ubuntu 20.04 Server and Docker version 20.10.7, build 20.10.7-0ubuntu5~20.04.2 - all seems fine, until I try to check my setup in the dashboard, to see if the configuration of the server is fine.

I try to record my voice but when the timer is over, I am not able to hear my voice. I also made some rooms to try to talk to colleagues, but this does not work either.

Do I miss a step or miss a configuration? Does the the container maybe miss something? I did not find any entry in the code where a turnserver is installed. Could that be my problem?

Dockerfile does not produce a runnable container

I was excited to find this project and while the pre-built image hosted on bintray.io works like a charm out of the box, I wasn't able to get the same result with a locally built image. The build process runs fine, but when I start the image it exits with the error:

sudo: ./red5-debug.sh: command not found

I compared the pre-built image with my self-built version and there seem to be a lot of scripts missing.

Can't view others in full server

The server is started by using this command

docker run -i --rm --name om-server-full --expose=5443 --expose=8888 -p 5443:5443 -p 8888:8888 apache/openmeetings:5.0.0-M3

It starts successfully, after my friend and I enter the room, both of us can only view our own camera live stream, but we can't see each other.

Here is the error logs:

org.kurento.client.internal.server.KurentoServerException: Error adding candidate (Code:40401, Type:null, Data: {"type":"ICE_ADD_CANDIDATE_ERROR"})

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Permission issue

Hello,

I built the docker image for OM. I want to use this docker image in Openshift environment. I have alredy pushed the image into openshift docker registry.

When I try to deplyo the application using the docker image I get following error and deployment fails:

bash: /root/work/om.sh: Permission denied
I have changed the permission in the Dockerfile
From
RUN chmod a+x *.sh
To
RUN chmod a+rwX *.sh (line 51)

Can anyone please help on how to solve this?

Request for official docker image of 5.0.0-M2

Mediaserver issues on a LAN

Hi,

I have a openmeetings-docker instance running on an Arch configured laptop and another laptop directly connected to that laptop via Ethernet cable (no switches, just directly on a private LAN). Both laptops keep displaying "Media server connection for user N/A is failed, will try to re-connect" and the video/audio is not working. The webcams are indeed visible locally to each laptops. Whiteboard is working for both, no other issues with the web server. No firewalls are running on the laptop running the docker instance and all ports are open (5443 and 8888 visible in netstat -natp)

I'm running as follows:

I'm trying to push the docker img, I logged in via my docker account :
docker login --username medreda
then
docker tag apache/openmeetings:5.0.0-M3 medreda/apache/openmeetings:5.0.0-M3

docker push medreda/apache/openmeetings:5.0.0-M3

denied: requested access to the resource is denied

ENV variables reset to default after restarting container.

I created container with -e OM_DB_TYPE=postgresql and provided other enviroment details such as DB credentials and kurento URL also.
To avoid installation from webforms, I just did
docker -exec -it om5 /bin/bash cd /opt/openmeetings ./admin.sh -i -tz Asia/Kolkata -group omgroup -email [email protected] -user omadmin --password Pass@123 \ --db-type postgresql --db-host localhost --db-port 5432 --db-name omdb --db-user omadmin --db-pass Pass@123 exit
After exiting from cotainer i restarted container. curl https://localhost:5443 got error response.
I checked logs via docker logs -f om5
I saw mysql related error so just again went into container checked environment variable
via $OM_DB_TYPE it returned mysql.

You can check and create conf file just to save env variable values and reuse them even after restart.

sql failed to start

I have an ubuntu VM created with vagrant, installed docker with debops.docker ansible role, cloned this repo, and typed docker build .

it failed to start mysql.

does the master branch work? should I try another git-tagged version, check that out and build again?

I'll update with the error message. Just wondering how well supported this project is

Can you please provide NginX Reverse proxy configuration for OpenMeetings ?
I'm able to open homepage (ex- openmeetings.zox.work)
But when i try to sign in , it does nothing
Error i get : GET http://openmeetings.zox.work/openmeetings/wicket/bookmarkable/org.apache.openmeetings.web.pages.auth.SignInPage...long text... 400 Error
When i click on network testing , it throws HTTP Status 400 – Bad Request

"Multimedia server is inaccessible"

I tried to launch the container to test OpenMeetings following the instructions "to run (full) OM". I can join into a room but connecting with voice does not work. In the browser (Firefox and Chrome) the error message "Multimedia server is inaccessible" does pop up several times. Also the log of the Docker container does show that it failed to create the "KurentoClient". These error messages are showing up every 10 seconds:

udp communication filtered by docker (kurento udp streams)

I'm trying to run the openmeetings container on a public server :
docker run -d --name openmeetings --expose=5443 --expose=8888 -p 5443:5443 -p 8888:8888 apache/openmeetings:5.0.0-M4

Yet, it looks like DOCKER only forward TCP packets :

When I go into a room in end user interface, I can see the kurento session is not able to start normally. It just reset constantly.

I've got a working turn server and published public IP in /etc/kurento/modules/kurento/WebRtcEndpoint.conf.ini

It is not clear to me the UDP port range that will be used by Kurento Media Server for communications. I can see in
/etc/kurento/modules/kurento/BaseRtpEndpoint.conf.ini it could be 50000-55000 ?

Run openeemeetings without TSL

I'm running multiple web-applications and all are managed by nginx.
Since my other webapps don't have TLS on, and I have not configured SSL for my host (I don't want to it for time being). So my nginx server is not listening on 443 right now, then How can i proxy pass to openmeetnig port without TSL?

Docker image runs version 4.0.6

I am trying to run OM 5.0.0 and started by running the prebuilt docker image with the following command:

docker run -i --rm --name om-server -p 5443:5443 -p 8888:8888 openmeetings-docker-images.bintray.io/server:latest

But docker downloaded version 4.0.6. Is the image name right? On the 4.0.6 version readme.md the image name is the same.

Should I build it with docker?
