Entering custom coordinates isn't exactly straightforward, yes. But you can base those settings on ones entered into other tab, as they carry over.
As for headset mounting, there's translation calibration that allows for finding head centroid with some degree of precision, without the need to manually fiddle with it.

Calibrate
In order to automatically calibrate the model-head offset, do the following:
Press the Calibrate button, then look around while not moving your shoulder. (i.e. only rotation, no translation). Do not stay in one pose for too long. The current translation estimate will be updated in real time. As soon as the values stabilized sufficiently, press the Calibrate button again to stop the calibration process.
You can also see how centering affects a clip mounted at an angle, i.e. whether rotating on one axis alone causes interconnect with other axes.

Ty, I had tried the model-offset calibration ... I guess I need to persevere.
I seem to be stuck with an apparent 30 degree roll ...about the actual angle of the clip from the vertical. Is this perhaps too large an angle for the calibration to cope with?

Calibration is for different thing.
After centering, does pitching cause roll/yaw? Initial position isn''t that important.
While technically possible to pass all data through a transformation matrix, it's overkill.
You can take all coordinates, and skew them using trig equations:

I've adjusted my clip manually. Everything seems to be working very well thank you.
