paclear is a clear command with PAC-MAN animation

Note I've created paclear in compliance with the official fan-made policy of Pac-Man.

Demo (with color)

paclear can set color to the output.

support blue, red, green, yellow, pink, white(default).

paclear -c yellow

Installation

Go

go install github.com/orangekame3/paclear@latest

Homebrew

brew install orangekame3/tap/paclear

Winget

First, you need to enable LocalManifestFiles in winget settings. Type the following command in PowerShell. (Run as Administrator)

winget settings --enable LocalManifestFiles

Then, download the installer file and install it.Recommended to use GitBash.

curl -L "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/orangekame3/paclear/main/win-installer.sh" -o "win-installer.sh"

And run the installer.

.\win-installer.sh

Binary

Download the latest compiled binaries and put it anywhere in your executable path.

Usage

  paclear [flags]

Flags:
  -c, --color string   Set pacman color (available: red, green, blue, yellow, pink) (default "white")
  -h, --help           help for paclear
  -s, --speed int32    Set pacman multiple speed (default: 1) (default 1)
  -v, --version        version for paclear

paclear's Issues

Add option to clear left, then right, or right, then left

The current animation only goes one direction, add an option so that it clears one way, then comes back the opposite direction. Maybe a -ltr for left to right languages or -rtl option (for those who's languages go right to left, etc.)

Can you add a setting to enable the default color and speed?

unable to install in windows terminal

was unable to configure correctly to install in windows terminal

Paclear does not show animation in VSCode terminal

Installed paclear via brew on an Ubuntu host but no animation is shown before the terminal is cleared in VSCode remote SSH terminal. paclear functions fine when called via Windows Terminal SSH'ing to the same host.
