Hi,
Please read the output of brew info qgis-22, specifically the Caveats regarding any missing Python modules.
I will look at 'vendoring' more modules in the Cellar install; but for now, you need to install into your chosen Python site-packages such run-time dependency modules, e.g psycopg2, matplotlib and pyparsing.
The homebrew-python tap offers matplotlib as a package.

cool, I did pip install for those 3 libraries and it seems to run now. Perhaps it would be easy to just add a check when the program launches and display instructions if they are not available?
Hmm, perhaps that suggestion would be better to send to the QGIS developers themselves?
