gnome-shell-bitcoin-markets's Issues

XRP

Howdy, I can see XRP in the BitStamp sourcecode but not in the settings. Should it be in there?

Request Rate

Hi,

Can you please amend your code to reduce the request rate to bitcoinaverage.com .

We're getting around a request per section from every user using this code, 1minute is plenty for the current free API.

If you want to debug more let me know!

Add Support for Ether (Ethereum)

Hi,
Thank you for making this Gnome Extension. It is great.
Can you add support for Ether from Ethereum? It has around 1 billion dollar market capitalization (# 2 after Bitcoin).

I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
Erik

Implement profit/loss indicator

You could set the amount of BTC you own, and with how much you've purchased it with(EUR/USD).

Then the panel indicator would show either a red loss(-25.3€) or green profit(+72.5€) with the current stock value that is already shown.

Add Kraken as provider

Would be great if Kraken would be available as a provider.

I've tried it based on the other providers but it seems that i missed something.
There is no value displayed in the menu bar :/

Can some have a look and give me some hints?
Thanks

Update interval

What is the default update interval?

Is it possible to change that value? If yes, how, please?
If not, please consider this as a feature request.

Exchange rate not displayed

I installed the latest version directly from GitHub. Install went ok. Configured settings via Gnome Tweak. Added in both BitStamp and Gox rates.

The extension shows up in the top bar. The refresh symbol displays occasionally, and so do the up and down arrows. However, the price is missing, for both exchanges.

Gnome 3.8.3

BROKEN!

It's been completely broken for a week or 2 now.

workspace 1_040

stock on USB

gnome-shell-ext[9486]: Some code accessed the property 'ConfigView' on the module 'ProviderBitcoinAveragePrefs'. That property was defined with 'let' or 'const' inside the module. This was previously supported, but is not correct according to the ES6 standard. Any symbols to be exported from a module must be defined with 'var'. The property access will work as previously for the time being, but please fix your code anyway.

Error getting values

Whenever I try to show the current Bitcoin value in Euro from a specific exchange, it shows error instead of the value. However when I use Average instead of a specific exchange I get the average value.

Specs.:

OS and DE: Antergos (arch linux) with Gnome 3.20.2 on X11
extension settings:
- Unit: BTC or mBTC
- Decimals: Default
- Show change: on
- Provider: BitcoinAverage
- Currency: EUR
- Average: OFF
- Exchange: all with EUR

Dont works for several days

Hi.
It dont work now with any providers.
Only dots and nothing more ((

Even after update I did today nothing changes

Make error messages more accessible

It would be nice if users could see a more detailed error message instead of just the "error" label. Getting error info from the logs is a bit of a pain.

Feature Request : Ticker Style

It would be nice if we could have a ticker option and allow the prices form various markets to show. So we could have Coinabse show for 5 minutes then Bitstamp for 5 then etc...

Can't install

Thanks for the help. Once I get this working I'm sure i will fiddle with it and contribute some changes.

bitstamp does not work now

hello you all,

I don't know why, but bitstamp doest not work since some days and was working fine before.

when a make a request manually, it's OK :

marc@gigabyte:~$ wget -q -O - 'https://www.bitstamp.net/api/v2/ticker/btceur/'
{"high": "15087.10", "last": "14049.99", "timestamp": "1513861594", "bid": "14019.14", "vwap": "14049.37", "volume": "6656.42412860", "low": "13185.00", "ask": "14049.98", "open": "13773.12"}

is there a way to see what wrong in log files ?

best regards, Marc.

spanish translation

hi!
i would like to translate the settings of this extension to spanish
can you provide the .po file?
i can only see .mo files ... :-/

move to left side

It'd be awesome if there was a setting to move the prices to the left side of the gnome shell bar!

allow BTC as main currency

Currently we can only select EUR or USD as base currency which doesn't allow the extension to show rates of coins to bitcoin. We can only see EUR/XRP and not BTC/XRP. Hi-season is approaching, this could be a really nice addition to monitoring all from the shell top bar. Thank you for the work.

Make display more compact

With many exchanges, altcoins and everything, the horizontal status bar space can get cluttered.

Some ideas:

  • don't add blank space on the right if status change display is disabled anyway
  • allow stacking of price sources, show full list in popup menu
  • allow "marquee" style animation (yuck IMO)

Can't change settings

I'm using the new Ubuntu 17.10.

I installed the extension, I can see it on the menu, I can open the settings, but any button I click, there's no response.

How to reduce space between prices in taskbar?

What should I change to reduce the space between the prices? I tried stylesheet.css, and that helped a bit, but Id like them much close because there are too many things on my task bar.

[too narrow on high density screens]

Hi,
the width of the price is too narrow on high density screens (retina). It fits well when there is no indicator

zaznaczenie_009

but it cuts when there should be an indicator:

zaznaczenie_010

how can i fix it?
