Second floor size

Describe the bug
The floor on the second floor is not the right size, as can be seen at the stairs besides the entrance to the pug, you can see right through the world.

To Reproduce
Just walk up to the second floor and look besides the railing.

Expected behavior
It doesn't have any as it doesn't impact colission.

Seats for small avatars

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Small avatars can't sit on seats right as they will be inside of the seats, this is really annoying when playing as a small avatar.

Describe the solution you'd like
Give the seats a collider that can be stepped up on, that way small avatars can stand on the chairs and be at a better height.

Describe alternatives you've considered
There are other solutions like dynamic seat heights based on player height.

Additional context
Not all seats would work as you can't jump on the map so if the seat is too high up you wouldn't be able to get up on it, this could be fixed by putting the exit point on the seat but that would not be a good idea for bigger avatars and small avatars would still have to enter and exit the seat to get on it.

Question: Is the Anticheat intended?

Whenever you teleport etc inside the map (e.g. to get outside to the moon or something), you get teleported back to spawn.

Is this an intended feature?

This is the only VRC World with 'active Anticheat' i've stumbled across yet.

Impossible clock in The Roost

Hi-- saw you in the bar tonight and you told me about this repo

Anyway, the clock upstairs on the wall has the hour hand halfway between 1 and 2 but the minute hand is straight up on 12. :P

Add Toggle options

Seeing how popular the Pug is, i would enjoy being able to disable some features in it when a lot of people are rushing in.
Would be great if we had some buttons at the spawn to locally disable chairs, mirrors and all dynamic/mixed lights.

The Great Pug - West - (More Space)

I'm sure you get loads of requests like this just because some people play the Great Pug on VR Headsets, but what I really like to suggest is a new map for the Great Pug West for more space, it's quite hard to move and see because of the people cramped together.

What I would really like is a more wider open space to move around in and maybe add a hidden basement for the great Pug West? Hint Hint My main request is just for more space, with all the players around it's harder to see and move and with them doing emotes, well you can imagine it

I haven't considered a alternative but maybe (and I know this would be difficult but) you could somehow import a version of the original great pug over.

I know this is a lot to ask, I mean I'm asking for practically a bigger map, but see if you could, i could continue my rough bar owner persona and I would have more space to do it. (Don't quote me on that last bit)

VRAM Usage may be too high

VRAM usage should be investigated to make sure it is not excessive.

Investigate the number of shader variants in use.
Investigate places where textures are redundant, could be added to atlases or reduced in resolution.

Issues using holoport to navigate

Describe the bug
While I don't use holoport, I been told by a couple players that they can't use holoport to navigate the pug, having to disable it or physically walk + rotate to navigate around.

Expected behavior
Able to navigate using holoport without issue.

Bloom bugged in Post Processing Stack v2

The Great Pug was recently updated to use Post Processing Stack v2. However, the bloom function in PPS v2 seems to be bugged in VRChat, causing weird reflections of your screen on loading avatars and player capsules. Sometimes these textures can align in a way that causes blinding lights, especially in VR.

Unfortunately, the only ways for world creators to fix this seems to be either switching back to v1, disabling the bloom, or waiting for the VRC devs to fix this.

Can't enter The Great Pug

Yesterday, it took me 10 mins to be able to enter the great pug, but today it is more than 10mins. It's been taking forever so I didn't bother to stay anymore. Then, a friend of mine told me that he is also experiencing that problem. A sign that says PLEASE WAIT YOUR PUG IS STILL LOADING.

I even restarted my computer, but it was still the same.

Before, I don't experience this problem.

Glitched lamp texture on chalkboard near entrance

A lamp near the entrance (above a chalkboard) has a very weird and glitched texture on it.

Steps to reproduce the behavior: Walk into entrance, turn right immediately, look on the right wall (below the stairs). Above the chalkboard is a tiny lamp, the lamp head has a weird texture on it.

It seems to be a random screenshot of sorts? The texture was not moving.

Consider Adding Guribo's UdonBetterPlayerAudio

The Great Pug is quite a popular spot and it usually hits up to 40+ people instances. Players usually end up splitting into groups, but due to VRChat's audio system, everyone's volume is based on distance rather than where you are looking. This can make it somewhat difficult to have conversations in large lobbies when there are several circles nearby. You can also still hear people on the floor below you, but this usually is only an issue when people are talking in the hallway below the stage.

Describe the solution you'd like
Consider adding Guribo's "BetterAudio"! A great example of a popular world that currently uses it is The Black Cat and the newer AfterDark Arcade map. The Black Cat uses it subtely, but the Arcade's map is very aggressive. BetterAudio allows several features to change how player audio is transmitted. You can edit it based on direction, whether or not if objects (and players) occlude it, and more. When set up properly, this makes it much easier to focus on your conversation even when several groups are nearby.

Describe alternatives you've considered
UdonBetterPlayerAudio is one of a kind (I think) in what it does, so there are no alternatives apart from turning down and up players as you are talking to them. This is currently what I do and it can be quite hard to keep track of who you need to turn up and down as people leave and join the conversation. Another alternative is to turn down the audio range, but The Great Pug already has a good balance for this all things considered. It just happens to get hectic in bigger lobbies and when no one is split over the floors.

Question: Function of keypad

I was wondering what the functionality is of the keypad around the pub. I was also wondering what the code is or how to get the code

Hold to grab constantly pops up

Describe the bug
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

On Rare occasions, some instances constantly bring up the option to "Hold to Grab". This bug affects the instance and only seems to affect VR users for some reason. This prevents picking up any item, or sitting in seats, etc. and regardless of where you go in the map it constantly pops up every 5 seconds or so (also causes the controllers to buzz each time).

Desktop users can still pick up items and sit on seats whilst every other VR user in the instance has the issue. When changing instance to another pug seems to resolve the issue, although returning to the instance will still have the bug occur.

Some occasions I have heard the phone noises constantly follow me when this occurs, especially when pressing the grip button and holding my hand next to my head.

I've only seen this bug occur in the Pug, so its possibly a bug with the map instead of VRChat.

Watering rose no longer functions.

Describe the bug
The rose can no longer be watered, making the rest of the puzzle impossible. The glass on collision with the rose/pot does not function.

To Reproduce
Any attempt to do this will fail thus far. Simply fill up the glass and try to water the rose.

Expected behavior
Usually, the rose would become a physics object you can pick up once watered. However, I suspect the udon update broke it, like how it broke basically everything.

The Music is Very Faint

Respawning

I can load into the game just fine and everyone can see me. But when i try to leave the front door it gives me like 3 second and then teleport's me back I tried to join an new instance but it keeps happening!

Bright Lights/Lighting

This appears randomly sometimes the lighting is normal, other times the lights are very bright and have lots of bloom effect. Unsure if the issue also affects avatar lighting.

Front stairs have invisible barrier

The front stairs have a strange barrier/collider near the top of the front stairs preventing anyone from going up or down. The only way to get to the top floors is using the back stairs which doesn't have this issue. Someone said it happened during the St. Patrick's Day event but I'm thinking it's the new update that possibly broke it.

Entrance bell is broken

I joined the Pug today and noticed the bell that dings when you walk through the door doesn't make the ringing noise. Not sure if this is a bug with the new build or if the instance is somehow broken.

Floating objects

Some objects on the map are floating, i think i've seen a few but the only one i can remember is the couch besides the staircase to the beds up in the roost.

Just look down, possibly change into a smaller avatar.

VRChat Logfile full of Error "XYZ could not use Station at" when in the world

Whenever I'm a public The Great Pug instance with many people in it the log file gets blasted with the message

30 minutes into the world and the message appears 122492 times.

I noticed because I have a log parser running sending me messages through my overlay and it has a visible log output. Whenever I'm in an instance it's just nothing but this error message, I haven't seen any other world do this.

Raycasting issues persisting on desktop

Desktop users can't interact with objects on tables due to trigger volumes occluding raycasts

Try to pickup but raycast is occluded by volume trigger

Moving pickups causes the instance to lag out

you're the one who made the pug, right? i don't know if anyone has told you but there's currently some weird glitch that happens there where if an object is moved (like a pickup), it can sometimes glitch out and lag the entire lobby

PhysSound is Disabled Due to a VRChat Bug

Describe the bug
PhysSound network events are causing Buffered events, likely causing performance issues in active instances. Due to this, I have disabled Physound in The Great Pug until it is fixed.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Use PhysSound, have lots of people make lots of sounds with clinking glasses, etc.

UI bug - Info panel in Link Generator

This isn't directly related to the Pug, but it is related to thegreatpug.com, so I hope it belongs here

Describe the bug

In the VRChat Link Generator, sometimes clicking on the Instance Owner help button renders the page unusable by hiding the button necessary to close it.

To Reproduce

Open up Chrome or Firefox.
visit VRChat Link Generator

Method 1:

  • click on the ? icon next to 'Instance Owner' to open the info panel
  • click on the ? icon to close the panel.
  • click on the ? icon one more time
  • The icon will now be covered up and the panel will be unable to be closed.

Method 2:

  • click on the ? icon next to 'Instance Owner' to open the info panel
  • scroll the page with the mouse wheel
  • The icon will now be covered up and the panel will be unable to be closed.

Note: this bug does not occur with the World ID info panel.

Higher quality mirror

You should put a higher quality mirror because it was set to a lower quality mirror for the halloween event and I don't know if it was intentional but it's using the Halloween drinks still.

I've made a simple Wanted! for a particular user who is a regular at the bar, LoliStalker13. If you're willing to add the poster, it'd optimally be placed on the billboard directly behind spawn, though currently there's only enough open space on the one to the right of spawn. Either is fine.

Pug West tap triggers have wrong tooltip

The taps on The Great Pug West are supposed to say "Pour" when up and "When" ehen they are down, but some of them do not. If I remember correctly all of them say "Pour" when they are up but some of them say "Use" when down, I believe it is the two closest to the door with this issue. This doesnt really affect anything it's just a slightly annoying inconsistency that should be able to be fixed easily enough.

Tone down film grain or add toggle

Recently, The Great Pug was updated to use Post Processing Stack v2. PPS v2 has fixed a lot of things, one of which is the dithering. Because the dithering was broken in v1, people were recommended to use the "film grain" feature instead.

Now in PPS v2, dithering is not only fixed, it is always on. This should help completely eliminate color banding in darker areas.

I noticed that The Great Pug still uses film grain. While this could be an artistic choice, it becomes very intense on some darker surfaces, to the point where you can even clearly see it in VR. Here is a picture of a painting in the roost, taken by me.

And the grain effect in motion, taken by a friend of mine.

The same effect is also clearly visible on the floor of the bottom floor hallway, although to a lesser extent. It's somewhat disorienting for me in VR when I walk through the hallways or walk up the stairs to the Roost. It also adds a lot of grain to screenshots taken with the ingame camera, which is a shame.

If the film grain is there to prevent color banding, please consider disabling it or decreasing the intensity. If it's there intentionally, please consider adding a toggle somewhere.
