atom-launcher's Issues

Launcher crashes after installing something

Hello friends I noted that after you install something the launcher crashes and needs a shell restart to work again, it crashes into a empety screen with not any entry / menu item

Not working on 3.10 anymore

since the latest editions, atom-launcher doesn`t work on 3.10 anymore.

also, the 3.12 especific branch is now dead?

The overview mode darkening is imperfect.

A) It seems too dark; We can try decreasing by 1/3.
B) There is some stock Gnome way too strong radial gradient, which creates light elipse in the centre; We should make that effect subtler.

Atom Launcher Disabled (GTT)

Despite this: #14
'Sometimes' Atom Launcher is disabled by itself from the startup. Tried many ways to fix this when it happened, but haven't found one yet - so far. Tho, it not always happened.

Can't disable Atom Launcher

Sometimes you can't disable Atom Launcher from GTT.

There's a bug thrown too in Looking Glass.
It was someting with _redisplay not being a function, which happened sometime between GS 3.12 and 3.14 if i remember correctly. Still, i'm not 100% sure this is causing the bug.

I'll update this report when i know more.

Animate while opening dash

There is no animation while opening the dash. We should smoothly transition to the dash view.

The windows should smoothly fadeout and the dash should fadein with a duration of 300ms.

Launcher as a desktop.

The whole thing with an empty workspace in Gnome is such an outdated metaphor. To fix it what we can make is this - if the user gets to an empty workspace he doesn't get to stare at his wallpaper until he starts an app, but rather the app launcher. When he opens a window, the app launcher goes away. If he closes all the windows the app launcher appears again.
This also NEEDS an off switch, because people will very much frown at us if we don't add one and we don't want that to happen.
Can somebody please implement that, because starring at the wallpaper is counter productive. :P

Generic App names

We need generic apps name. "Chromium" - "Web Browser", "gThumb" - "Image Viewer".

(I know this doesn't come under the remit of the launcher extension but posting it here in lieu of a better place I'm filling it here)

Local install directory?

I have an issue about the install directory, from make install it will install to gnome shell root dir /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions which will need root access and users can't remove it from Gnome Tweak Tool. I would like to change it to local user's extension dir ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ but seeing as this extension and all of extensions on the extension set are intended for Ozon OS, it is making sense that it should be installed in root dir.

What do you guys think? I'm thinking of including both options to install in local and root dir. If we agreed on this, what is the default install action if we run make install? Local or root dir?

Can't Install

Runs fine without errrors but doesn't result in the laucnher extension being installed.

Atom dash doesn't work in GNOME 3.12

I cannot even enable it due to error in loading. I guess it's some API incompatibility.

Here is a screenshot showing the error message in looking glass,
