parse-community.github.io's Issues

๐Ÿ› Help and Communication display issue

Describe the bug
The Stack Overflow tags are overlapping

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'http://parseplatform.org/'
  2. Scroll down to 'Help & Communication'
  3. See error

Expected behavior
The content should be displayed vertically without overlapping.

Update Flutter SDK references

The Flutter SDK is now part of the parse community org. As such it should be removed from community highlights and added to the SDKs section.

๐Ÿ› Weird resizing behaviour of SDK & community highlight 'cards'

Describe the bug
When reducing the width of the browser window I noticed that at a certain point the various cards under the SDKs and community highlights sections behave strangely.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to parseplatform.org
  2. Gradually reduce the width of the window
  3. See error

Expected behavior
The cards should remain in orderly rows and perhaps to reduce to two columns.

Parse Platform SE tags outdated or incomplete

What is the issue?
The SE tags mentioned are outdated or incomplete:

Can you propose a solution?
The currently used tags on Stack Overflow are listed here.

Suggestion for rewording:

Stack Overflow
Use for any code level questions related to the Parse Platform. Use the tags parse-platform, parse-server, parse-dashboard, parse-cloud-code, parse-javascript-sdk, parse-ios-sdk, parse-dotnet-sdk, parse-android-sdk, parse-rest-api or parse-live-query.

Note: I suggest to omit the tag parse-osx-sdk as the tag only has 4 questions on SO.

๐Ÿ› Text wrapping on community highlight titles

Currently if the title of a community highlight exceeds the width of the container it is cutoff with an ellipsis. This behaviour doesn't make sense as there is no way of say clicking on the box and then being shown a detail view with all the content, hence all the content should be displayed.

Similar changes have been made for the descriptions in #14 but it's a bit more complex for the titles so I'm opening this issue for anyone to have a look at this or I will try to make a PR when I have some time.

Facebook button

I think the FaceBook button should be removed as it links to the Parse LLC facebook page which is no longer relevant and hasn't been posted to since Jan 2017.

I will PR to remove this if everyone is happy with this?

๐Ÿ’ก Improve explanation of the Parse Platform

Issue #402 on the docs repo suggests improving people's fundamental understanding of the Parse Platform.

I think there are two important questions to answer:

  1. What is the Parse Platform?
  2. Why should I use it? / what does it offer?

I'd say both of these questions are answered in one place or another e.g. on the parse server wiki. However, what with all the different repos I think it makes sense to centralise some of this on the Parse Platform website.

This would perhaps involve adding a new section below the header.

๐Ÿ’ก New community highlights page

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The community highlights section is not particularly easy to navigate, there is little to distinguish different types of projects, no indication of activity etc - the section only gets worse as more items are added.

Describe the solution you'd like
A completely separate page would probably work best so that it could be expanded without making the front-page overly long. It would be good to categories all the projects, add platform logos, show the number of stars (if on GitHub) and add a search function.

I think https://modules.nuxtjs.org could provide some good inspiration/direction - they include both official and community modules - this might be worth considering.
