Social Media Follower Counter with Raspberry Pi

This project works in conjunction with a Raspberry Pi and some RGB LED matrix displays to display up-to-date follower/like/subscriber counts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Great to hang on the wall in your office, studio or shop front and a fun way to help you grow your brand's following.

The 64x16 display shows a pixel-perfect copy of the top-left region of the display, which is generated by this code.

The setup uses Adafruit's rpi-fb-matrix (see here) which in turn uses hzeller's rpi-rgb-led-matrix library.

social-media-counter's Issues

Instagram no longer provides follower count

Instagram no longer lists follower count in the url that social media counter parses.
I think we need a new approach. This should be possible with the Facebook developer credentials.
I'm not a coder, so I'm afraid I can't provide any solution.

Chromium unable to open display

I got the following Error:
chromium-browser --kiosk http://localhost/ social-media-counter

[1393:1393:1227/120915.932127:ERROR:browser_main_loop.cc(1432)] Unable to open X display.

perhaps someone can help?
