Continue Seeding after Restart

For torrent-feeds Miro stops seeding the torrent if you restart Miro after finished download. You than have to manually activate seeding of the downloaded episode. If you do this once for every episode Miro will automatically start seeding this episode at the next start.

Why do I have to do this? Miro should not require a "please seed" if I restart it and should automatically seed as long as it does not get stopped (via constraints in settings or manually).

Youtube Download

Some of the videos can not be downloaded.Mostly the videos having source as external link in youtube can be played in Miro but can't be downloaded.Status of the file says that 'File not found

Stop Key (Ctrl+D) under playback does not work

Step 1: Play a video in miro
Step 2: Press Ctrl + F to view the video in full screen
Step 3: Press Ctrl +D to stop the video.

Cannot build on OS X 10.10.2

I wanted to build a recent version of Miro on OS X, but didn't succeed.
The HowTo on the PCF development wiki is heavily outdated.

The setup_sandbox.sh script complains that

Building and running Miro is only supported on Mac OS X 10.{6,7,8}.

Is it really true that Miro cannot be built on recent versions of OS X?

No confirmation email / verification while registering as a new user

No confirmation mail has been sent if we give correct email address and also the field Email address is accepting fake addresses

Problems with words containing an Umlaut (ä, ö, ü)

Whenever I try to delete a video inside Miro which has an Umlaut (ä, ö, ü) inside it’s name, I get the message „An error occurred“. I have to delete it manually inside Finder. Also the search doesn’t work with words containing an Umlaut. It doesn’t show any videos as soon as I type any Umlaut inside a word.

Playing back videos with an Umlaut works though.

Is the Miro project still being developed?

Hi. Is the miro project no longer being developed?

It was dropped from Debian a few months ago because it depended on libraries being removed from Debian and because no changes had been done to the source since 2014. I also notice several lingering pull requests.

Podlove Subscribe Button support

The Podlove Subscribe Button is a new universal, web-based podcast subscription button that should make it much, much easier to go through the sometimes very tedious process of subscribing to a podcast with the podcast client of your choice.

The basic idea is to present a simple button that scans the HTTP request for your OS and then present a list of possible client apps. If the user taps one of the clients, a client-specific (or for Android and Windows Phone 8: OS-specific) URI-scheme is chosen to activate the proper app and make it go to the subscription dialog.

Regarding Miro, we know that Miro already registers URI schemes for "democracy" and "miro", but both can't be used to subscribe to a podcast feed in the same way as "itpc" oder "pcast" work with iTunes. Not sure what these two are used for, but it's not helpful to us as it stands.

If you could change the behaviour of one of these URI schemes or add a new one (e.g. "miro-subscribe:") Miro could be added to the list of Apps in the Podlove Subscribe Button and also get a link to the Miro home page so people can install it seamlessly if they have not yet done so.

Malwarebytes reported link: 149.202.122.31 against Miro

Good morning, my weekend virus scan revealed that Miro was attempting to connect to IP address:

149.202.122.31

After googling that IP; is reported as a malware host.

I notice there has been no activity here for quite some time and also the Miro project website is down at:

https://develop.participatoryculture.org/

So the github repository and an pages must be the whole of the project a this stage. I don't know where that 149.202.122.31 address came from. If there was one, there will probably be others.

If you are using Miro, make sure you use a malware scanner. Very nice program, platform, Miro. Good luck.

Is possible to run the video player for iOS/Android ?

I'm wondering if Miro video player can be used for iOS/Android mobile platform? Thanks

Playback group Keyboard shortcut

Step 1: Play a video song on youtube

Step 2: Press ALt+ L to check the hotkey of playback menu

Actual Result : Playback menu list is not opening the menu.
