pdf-richmedia-annotations's Issues

RichMediaActivation's View entry point to incorrect portion of the specification.

Table 335's View entry explicitly calls out its value as being a Table 315 3D view dictionary rather than referencing section 13.7.2.3.5, though the last sentence of the entry does mention Table 344 from section 13.7.2.3.5.

This implies that Views are 3D-instance specific rather than applicable to Audio and Video Instances.

Instance Asset is not Always an Asset Tree asset.

The Asset entry in a RichMediaInstance dictionary (table 343 of section 13.7.2.3.4) has the following definition:

"Required; PDF 2.0) A dictionary that shall be an indirect object reference to a file specification dictionary that is also referenced in the Assets name tree specified in the RichMediaContent dictionary of the annotation."

This wording implies that an asset must exist both in the Asset Tree and in the Instances array of a RichMediaConfiguration.

Per previous conversation with LR, this implication is incorrect and an Instance is only required to be in the Assets tree if it needs to be referenced by a specified name.

Table 335 - default value of the View Entry.

The description is slightly mangled:
"Default value: The first element in the Views array of the annotation specified in the RichMediaContent dictionary."

The Annotation does not have a Views array, the RichMediaContent does, but it does not specify an Annotation.
So, I believe this sentence was intended to say:

"Default value: The first element in the Views array of the RichMediaContent dictionary specified in the annotation."

Table 345 : View params dictionary ambiguity with the Instance entry ?

The Instance entry of table 345 has "A dictionary that shall be an indirect object reference to a RichMediaInstance dictionary that is also present in the Instances array of the annotation."

This could be a bit less ambiguous:

The annotation dictionary itself does not have an Instances array;
RichMediaConfiguration dictionary( Table 342) has an optional Instances array.

However, RichMediaConfigurations can be optionally specified via the RichMediaActivation (Table 335) dictionary's Configuration entry, or the RichMediaContent (Table 341) dictionary's Optional Configurations array entry.

but on net, this implies that if a RichMediaActivation dictionary (Table 344) is used with a View dictionary (Table 344) with the Params entry set, then at least one RichMediaConfiguration dictionary must be specified whose instances array must include the Instance referenced in the Instance entry of table 345.

Considering the indirection to get to that conclusion, a note stating the above would reasonable.
