To access, and build the this book from the latex run:

cd

git clone [email protected]:peeterjoot/latex-notes-compilations.git project

cd ~/project/

./bin/cloneGAe

cd GAelectrodynamics

Then add:

PATH=$PATH:~/project/latex/bin

to your .profile, and finally:

make mmacells.sty all

damping

Consulting your excellent book (V0.1.16-19 562c2ff) after having excercised the Dad-forcing-function on a rather old swing, I think there should be a damping constant k in equations 2.127 and 2.129 ?

(daughter calls these the "Schaukeln equations")

Multiplicative identity in vector space?

Surely the multiplicative identity belongs to the field and not the vector space (since multiplication between vectors isn't yet defined).

So:

Should probably be

There exists a multiplicative identity \( 1 \in \bbR \) & \( 1 \Bx = \Bx \) \\ \hline

Or simply

\( 1 \in \bbR \) is the multiplicative identity & \( 1 \Bx = \Bx \) \\ \hline

since we assume reals are already known.

Build issue

After following instructions to build from latex source:

make: *** No rule to make target '/home/evan/physicsplay/mathematica/METADATA', needed by 'mathematica.tex'. Stop.

Can you give me any hint to fix. If I find something in the next few days I will close the issue myself.
