The aware DateTime fields work properly with PostgreSQL and Django 1.5.x and Django 1.6.x. I only can reproduce the error when I'm using SQLite 3 database.

It seems that SQLite3* has not complete timezone support.

If you need to avoid that message, you can add the following lines to your settings.py file:

import warnings
warnings.filterwarnings( 'error', r"DateTimeField .* received a naive datetime",
                                  RuntimeWarning,
                                  r'django\.db\.models\.fields')

Agreed, @bsnux. This issue seems resolved but deferring to either @spookylukey or @amosjyng to close this out.
