powerplatform-samples's Introduction

Power Platform Samples

This repository contains community samples that demonstrate different usage patterns for the Microsoft Power Platform.

Sample migration

We are currently in the process of moving all the per product samples into solutions, so that they can be used more easily. The following repositories will still exist for the time being but will be removed later on when all samples are migrated to this repository.

You're welcome to bring samples from the other repositories! The more people help, the faster we'll move all the samples here.

Have issues or questions?

Please use following logic on submitting your questions or issues to right location to ensure that they are noticed and addressed as soon as possible.

powerplatform-samples's Issues

Github Description of Fields Incorrect

First would like to thank you for taking the time to do the video and developing this. After following the directions listed in the README, it appears the TimeEntries list has two incorrect field names. "Manager Comments" and "Week Start" do not have spaces and so if you copy and pasted the names like I did, it will result in several errors in the Power App. After deleting and recreating those fields in SharePoint with the required space, and refreshing the data connection in the app, all was right-as-rain. FYI.

The is an error in this formula

Installation

  • Download the .zip from the solution folder
  • Within Power Apps Studio, import the solution .zip file using Solutions > Import Solution and select the .zip file you just packed.
  • Open the Timesheet Template app in Edit mode
  • Go to the datasources tab and remove the BillTo and TimeEntries tables

    MyTimeCards
  • In the datasources tab, click add new and search for SharePoint
    AddData
  • Navigate to where you created the lists and add the TimeEntries and BillTo list to your app
    AddData
  • Save and Publish

After readding the built lists, the th attached error occured.

Expected or Desired Behavior

  • When I submit my saved timesheet, manager details should be updated while submitting the record.

Observed Behavior

  • Manager details are updated only when I click on "Submit" in my New Timesheet. If I save the timesheet and then come back and submit, Employee and Manager details remain the same.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create New Timesheet.
  2. Add hours in appropriate days.
  3. Click "Save" to save the timesheet.
  4. From home page click on "My Timesheets", open the timesheet that is pending for submission (just saved)
  5. Click on Submit.
  6. Open TimeEntries SharePoint list, view the record that you just submitted.
  7. Status will be "Submitted for Approval", Employee and Manager details will be same.

Additional context

  • Save and Submit button code in the "My Applications" page contains the same code, submit button code should look for Manager's details instead of current user
