Simple and easy to use shell program that turns jpg into ASCII.

😎 Overview

This simple Shell program turns an ordinary jpeg from the internet with Curl and interprets it as ASCII text using jp2a.

📝 Requirements

• Brew (macOS)
• Curl
• jp2a
• Link to your image
• WSL/macOS/Linux

📦 Prerequisites

• Ubuntu

sudo apt install curl jp2a

• Arch Linux

sudo pacman -S curl jp2a

• Brew (macOS)

brew install curl jp2a

⌨️ Instructions

1. Clone the repository.

git clone https://github.com/pointlessduffin-21/shell-ascii.git && cd shell-ascii

2. Set Permissions

sudo chmod +x ascii.sh

3. Launch the program.

./ascii.sh

4. Carefully enter your image's link to the input field.

Example:

https://dimplelavigne.vercel.app/assets/img/bg.jpg

5. Wait for Curl to finish downloading the image.

6. Voila!
