PeopleMap

A visualization tool that visually “maps out” researchers based on their research interests and publications, based on embeddings generated by natural language processing (NLP) techniques

Discovering research expertise at institutions can be a difficult task. Manually curated university directories easily become out of date and often lack the information necessary to understand a researcher’s interests and past work, making it harder to explore the diversity of research at an institution and pinpoint potential collaborators. PeopleMap solves these problems! To generate a PeopleMap, you only need to provide the researchers’ Google Scholar profile URLs.

Documents not found

Hi there,
Thank you very much for your fascinating project. It really helps for mapping researchers in our institution.

Maybe my fault, but I encountered these issues are following:

  1. I cannot set up the modules following the requirements documents. When I was Installing build dependencies for scipy 1.3.1, it also shows error and not relevant version found.
    Building wheel for scipy (PEP 517) ... error ERROR: Command errored out with exit status 1: command: /Users/jason/opt/anaconda3/bin/python /Users/jason/opt/anaconda3/lib/python3.8/site-packages/pip/_vendor/pep517/_in_process.py build_wheel /var/folders/v7/sl6dw90n1ps92ykcy_4sg3m80000gn/T/tmp3qze_34s

ERROR: Failed building wheel for scipy Failed to build scipy ERROR: Could not build wheels for scipy which use PEP 517 and cannot be installed directly

  1. I didn't found there is any documents named dataprocess.sh to begin to process. As in the documents, it requires running the dataprocess.sh.

If anyone could help, I would be grateful.
