feh_robot_team_c2's Issues

PID control loop

  • I figured out that the clock is 88 MHz exactly. The Proteus website is wrong.
  • Write interrupt-based digital encoder time calculator

Project Management

When you start working on a task, please open an issue if it doesn't exist already and assign yourself to it. Add it to the appropriate milestone and be sure to comment on the issue when you make significant progress.

In-Class Meeting 2/14/24

  • Had Team Meeting 1 with Carter & Paul
  • Discussed replacing rack and pinion with 4-bar mechanism
  • Started preparing initial order from FEH store

Robot Performance Checkpoint #1

Performance checkpoints are scored out of 20 points. If we plan according, we should be able complete the performance checkpoint ahead of time and earn 2 bonus points. And if we get the stretch bonus AND the ahead-of-time bonus, we can earn 25 points for this checkpoint.

Meeting 2/15/24

Team Meeting 2/15/2024

Begin: 6:00pm
Place: Pomerene 260
Planned End: 9:00pm
End: 7:50pm

Agenda

  • Talk about reworking bot to use 4-bar
  • Discuss APP R05-1: Initial Project Schedule
  • Discuss APP R05-3: Agendas and Notes

In Attendance
Brian, Griffin, Drew

Sam is sick

Notes

  • Formulated a plan for completed upcoming APPs.
  • created a plan for completing the project schedule over the weekend on GitHub
  • created a time sheet format and testing log
  • submitted the first parts order
  • discussed 4-bar for kiosk high and low buttons, and the fuel levers. Luggage will be handled by a little holder on top of the 4-bar mechanism that acts like a dumptruck. We will be able to raise the 4-bar and the luggage will just slide out.
  • Brian will draw up a CAD model to better visualize functionality. The team will go ahead with the rack-and-pinion design for now

To-Do

Project Schedule

  • Griffin: half of APP assignments
  • Sam: team meetings
  • Brian: all project milestones
  • Drew: APP R05-2, documentation
  • Everyone: add time from this week into the appropriate time sheet

Mockup & Solid Model

  • Base is laser cut out of plywood
  • Laser cut materials:

Image

  • Acrylic can crack easily and it is difficult to modify once it has been laser cut, so we plan to use plywood.

  • Laser cut pieces should be put together with fasteners. Avoid glue when possible.

  • Tolerances are not absolutely critical for the chassis so the 0.004" kerf shouldn't be a huge issue

  • Proteus weighs 432g

  • Robot has good ground clearance on the steepest ramp even with 2.5in drive wheels (see prototype Onshape version Ground Clearance Test 2.5in wheels)
