data-backend's Issues

Moneyball Table Updating

don't re-render the table if clicked region is same state as current--save time and avoid browser task load

add links to candidate names based on campaign site if exists -> ballotpedia page if known -> no link (these would only be extremely unimportant regions)

Count Priors as a Poll

In line with conversation with Sam, adjust scraping pipeline to count the priors (2016 election results) as a poll. This will impact only states with <3 polls.

In current system, the prior is only used if there are 0 polls since 2020

Update Geojsons

Latest model output from Jacob and parse in candidates from Zach's work.

Moneyball state textfield input

input format is not clear nor forgiving:
-maybe implement autocomplete
-at minimum be case sensitive and accept full or 2 letter postal state names

Sam's suggestions for UI response to input:
-If a single state is entered, I think it should zoom to that state.
-If a list of states is interested, I think it could zoom to the first state listed.

Senate Scraper Update

does it scrape Mississippi polls between Espy (D) and Hyde-Smith (R)? That is getting closer, need to start including it.
