Windows support

I am struggling to access a HID device with Freepascal on Windows. It looks like this is pretty close to what could possibly solve the problem for me. I saw the notes in the readme that it doesn't work under windows yet, but I'm hoping it can be made to work under windows. I don't know anything about USB, or HID, or C and I'm lost when you say that wchar_t == 4 is not so in windows.. I don't know what in the world a wchar_t is or how to do something to make it == 4, so I'm hoping you can help me get this to work under windows.

I have a sample code (written in Python for Linux) that accesses this device, it uses similar functions to what you show here, open, close, write, read, sendfeaturereport, etc... so it seems like maybe if I could just get this to work under windows, it would be a solution for me.

I would be very grateful for any help getting this to work on Windows, and I'm happy to do whatever testing is needed. I also have no idea where to get HIDAPI.DLL, I'm hoping you could give me an idea of where I might get that as well.

HID Connection status.

Hi. This is more a question. How do you check the connection status of the HID Device using the HId API? Let say you loose connection and want to reconnect or somebody pulls out the USB cable. How do you recover from a connection failure?
