I can't seem to reproduce this.
In chat, I try to challenge myself then challenge another user, both with right click menu.
When challenging myself, I am taken to the normal Play page.
When challenging someone else, I am taken to the matchmaking screen.
Nothing happens on the challenged person's screen, but they can find the challenge in the Play page.

The right click buttons are a bit wonky, you have to click on the text itself for it to work. Maybe this was the problem?

I'm not sure, tho, the problem might be more random than that, I got again in a "can't challenge state" earlier, and I'm not sure how I got in this
